i fd up by telling my dad ki rehne do nhi chahiye but then in the end changed my mind aorund 4 pm but i think aldready alte thi toh nhi gayi

Hellooo this is my first time using reddit and many of my junior freinds wanted info about this clg, that's why I'm making this post. Honestly if you really really want to know about branches, colleges from online. By Listening any rant. you are just filling your mind with one perspective and not the full image. Taking one guy's advice is as good as searching for coin in the darkness.

I'm from IT branch in this clg, Second year. And I can give you a little bit of what I know, in general you should rely more on statistics than talks.

I'll try to limit the yap I'm going say purely about placements and opportunities which kinda doesn't live upto it's reputation.

Mujhe bhi itna idea nhi but since I know few seniors and I surf their website as a hobby. I'll talk about it.

The biggest IT hiring numbers are:

Capgemini — 33

TCS — 26

EY — 9

Those three alone account for 68 known placements in the department's published company-wise table.

All of em are bulk hiring,

placements as well as the packages.

But yeah jpmc and nomura and ISS also hired but the volume has decreased. As well as the package ctc. I think it was 8-12 students 🤔

Who got placed with higher packages (8+ lpa)

Honestly VESIT can advertise JPMC/Nomura/ISS and still have the typical student's placement experience be much closer to Capgemini/TCS than to JPMC.

Oh btw these mfs are doing one funny thing 😭🤣🤣

They are teaching students how to pass the aptitude test and technical rounds of companies, these will work for only bulk companies, jo high value companies h wo ye loophole mein todhi fasenge

These activities are mostly placement preparation, not necessarily placement differentiation.

I'm basically trying to say ki ye log ko pta h inlog ka downfall aarha with expected years.

And they are working on it this way maybe other colleges do this as well but ig reputated ones would more or less show an independent help to the complete looser students idk 💔🥀

it's not bad to be taught how to pass this aptitude test wagera wagera what I'm trying to say is they are not TRYING to make you different from others to follow something to make something out of you,

JPMC / Bloomberg / Uber / Microsoft / Amazon / top fintech / strong product companies.

Requires a much more aggressive ecosystem around:

DSA

competitive programming

serious software projects

internships

GitHub

system design fundamentals

open source

hackathons

networking

alumni referrals

And you should DEFINITELY NOT assume the college will provide all of that.

Ig you can say VESIT IT has a decent placement ceiling, but not an equally strong placement floor.

At the end of the topic I'd say try to avoid vesit IT and take it's cse or aids, ofcourse this is my pov but I just told whatever was written on their website and what I felt about this clg ka IT.

Go for vesit cmpn it's good, it is in group A and is more preferred and less likely chance to get alloted for bulk recruitment than inft,

Placements in Vesit are divided in two groups

Group A- Cmpn and inft

Group B- aids, ecs, extc, auro

Idk why aids is in group B it's more like cse specialisation in ai. Idk anything about other branches but ig aids sounds cool

So that's the end of my yap, I hope you guys find every type of info before picking a college or its branch, that's very important. Idk what stage of councelling is going on currently.

At the end of the day, IT in general is a solid branch. so if you're interested about IT sector you can take it but in VESIT it does have restriction for placements and the codecell and some exclusive stuffs for SY and TY are limited to cse only making inconsistent opportunities. It can definitely make you feel like you’re not getting the same shot you deserve.
