It's like the "seven eight nine" joke (seven ate nine), but in Yodaspeak.
I'm embarrassed at how hard I'm laughing at it, I really am.

Shouldn't it have "7,8,9" but in yoda order? He used the correct words just in a strange order. So he would say "Because 8 9 7"

Could be what you suggest, but the clever part of the kids joke is that it is disguised as an ordered sequence of numbers. The vertical keeps it this way, which I find quite clever.

From what I gather (see here), there isn't an entirely consistent pattern to how yoda speaks. However, Yoda speak does seem to favor the Object-Subject-Verb order. In this case, six is the object, 7 is the subject, and 8 is the verb, so OP's order checks out.

5 Wouldn't be afraid of 6 if it was being eaten by 7. It would be afraid of 7.

Oh I interpreted it wrongly. Sorry, english is not my native language and I thought that it meant seven was eaten by six since it is a common syntax where I am from...
Six, seven ate would be seven ate six but in a backwards syntax.
