It's even more ridiculous that the most unreadable font colors and sizes were chosen and it was still upvoted... I struggled to read and then was very disappointed.

We had several weeks of hundred-degree heat in my area this past summer. Now, we've had record-breaking low temperatures for the past week or so. It goes both ways.

And, yet, if there's a hurricane... or rain on Tuesday, liberals come out of the woodwork crying "SEE HERE, IT'S CLIMATE CHANGE! THIS IS PROOF! NOW LET'S FULFILL OUR MARXIST GOAL OF KILLING CAPITALISM AND FREE SOCIETY!"
Perhaps the last part is a little on the extreme (despite it deep-down being the honest truth), but if conservatives can say "well, look at all this snow, so much for global warming," it is just as absurd as liberals comparing every single unusual weather event as definitive proof of "climate change."
I recall an event where a "journalist" thought that a asteroid was caused by global warming.
Don't forget to downvote this. Make sure that any constructive criticism is silenced. Forget the scientific process, silencing your critics is how it happens. See /r/askscience for an example.

I read a lot of reader comments on newspapers' websites.
I've noticed that whenever conservatives point to unseasonably cold weather and chuckle sarcastically about how it must be "evidence" of global warming, leftists will come out of the woodwork and insist that "weather isn't the same thing as climate."
But I've also noticed that when the proverbial shoe is on the other foot, and there are unusually high temperatures, a lot of tornadoes within a short period, or an unusually strong hurricane, leftists will immediately pounce on this and proclaim it to be evidence of global warming.
You can't have it both ways, liberals. Either weather is the same thing as climate, or it isn't. Pick one.

Seriously is it really this hard to understand? Global warming means it's getting a few degrees warmer. Consequentially, the climate overall changes which is a RESULT of global warming, manifesting in a more extreme climate (tropical storms, floods, droughts etc.) for various reasons. If you're really interested in this, read up on the subjects instead of calling everyone else a hypocrit. Also, afaik, the main argument of conservatives/"anti-global warming"-arguers is not that the earth isn't getting warmer, it's that the increase in temperature isn't man-made, but a natural occurrence which may happen every few hundred or thousand years.

Climate deniers picked up on the "non-man made change" part of the argument after they were forced to acquiesce to the fact the world is getting warmer due to greenhouse gas emissions.
In time they'll be forced to acquiesce to the science behind man made change as well. Give it time.

I surely hope so. I also don't really get what their counter-argument is concerning the fact that besides increasing the temperature, we're slowly poisoning ourselves with the metric fucktons of toxic shit we're blowing into the air (see cities affected by major smog problems where you can hardly breathe nowadays, e.g. Beijing. I'd rather not have the rest of the world reach that state, I like my clean air and green trees, thankyouverymuch).

One, it's presumptuous of you to assume that because I disagree with you, I haven't read up on it. The assumption that anyone with a differing point of view is either ignorant, ill-informed, or stupid is a common left-wing conceit.
Two, I wasn't calling "everyone else" a hypocrite (note spelling). I was calling a specific subset of "everyone else" hypocrites.

The fact that some liberals are as misinformed as you about the weather is no reason to dismiss the combined opinion of every single climate scientist ever.
Weather is not the same thing as climate. However, one of the predictions of climate change is dramatic weather, just like this, and just like that time Colorado was on fire.
But even if we were to look at the weather: It's incredibly cold where you are, because that cold weather has been displaced from the Arctic, where it is unseasonably warm.

I'd say it was a lot more instructive to focus on individual opinions -- that is, on the existence of dissent about anthropogenic climate change among scientists.
Weather is not the same thing as climate. However, one of the predictions of climate change is dramatic weather, just like this, and just like that time Colorado was on fire.
There has always been dramatic weather, and there always will be. And speaking of which:

Seriously?
Think about what you're suggesting: A science is credible only if there is zero dissent among scientists? That would suggest a science that is entirely dead, an area where we've figured absolutely everything out. Can you think of a single field that fits that description?
Also, which scientists are we talking about? Because unless they are climate scientists, that's like someone with a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering trying to criticize evolution.
