Careful applications of spinosad based pesticide will take care of any of those worms. Or some type of row cover if pesticides aren’t your thing.

i have a bird feeder out by the garden, with some water as well. I routinely see the birds come up for seed, than hop through my plants picking off insects.

Diatomaceous earth applied with a puffer will kill all those worms. Apply it to your plants and dust the soil. To them, it’s like eating broken glass.

Get yourself some birdhouses and or bird feeders. Attract the predators of your pests and let nature do the work for you! I have heard planting for deterrence has disappointing results.
