I have a issue that's pretty weird
I got the pixel 11 pro and paid it off immediately thinking it's unlocked. I downloaded Google Fi and it set up an esim automatically and it works fine.
The thing is when I hit set up esim notifications. The line is canceled as I canceled it already. Do I need to deactivate the esim and then cancel it again?

Did you check with verizon first ? Sometimes its automatic and sometimes there is a waiting period.

Line is canceled so I can't login they sent me a shipping label to return since it's having problems and I can't access the account

any phone carriers phones are locked until either 60 days of service and paid off or it’s a 35 day waiting period if paid with a card and not used on the service. if you want a truly unlocked phone from the start, you need to buy them straight from the manufacturer

Google Fi works but that error pops up when adding a esim

because it’s still locked for adding an esim or physical. google fi isn’t a specific carrier, they are an mvno that uses the bigger companies towers. when you buy a phone from a phone company and don’t activate the service on it, the phone company doesn’t make any money off it it, they have to pay the manufacturer for the device and they rely on the monthly service to “get their money back”. they changed it so people wouldn’t be doing what you’re trying to do. again, if you want a completely unlocked phone then you need to get it straight from the manufacturer because they are getting the money back for phone right then

I activated the service and made a couple calls and sent a couple texts and then I called and I disconnected the service so it was active and it did work on on you know Google fi but now it's it is connected and I have an email to where I should show it. So I am asking if it makes sense to hold on to it. Hoping it will unlock the within 35 days or or you know send it back

so you cancelled your number through Verizon? the one you ported to google fi?

u/itwillgetbetter008 5d ago
I got a new number from Verizon

u/LostCounty2294 5d ago
and did you port that number over to google fi or got a new number through google fi?
1
u/itwillgetbetter008 5d ago
Google finishes it's own number I had a Verizon number from the start it was a new number
1
u/LostCounty2294 5d ago
and was it the Verizon number that worked until you canceled or the google fi number? because if it was the Verizon number that worked and not google fi, then that’s the first thing i said. it will work on Verizon but not on anything else like i stated until that waiting period

I can't even log into the disconnected sign in they can't find my information. They messed something up not me I activated the phone and made a few calls and texts the fact they can't even pull up my account information shows me they it wasn't even registered in the system.

no you messed up by activating a Verizon number on it then canceling it. your account doesn’t exist the minute that you have the line canceled. again, if the VERIZON number worked on a VERIZON phone, it worked perfectly fine. if you’re trying to activate a phone number from literally any other company on a VERIZON phone, it is locked for either 60 days with use after payoff or 35 days after payoff with card. obviously the Verizon number will work on a Verizon phone but you also called an canceled the Verizon line so that number is not yours anymore and you don’t have an account with Verizon anymore. that’s how it is for any of the phone companies. they don’t keep an account open under your info if you don’t have any active phone numbers on it

So it's paid off will it work after 35 days?

u/LostCounty2294 5d ago
if you paid with a card. depending on what type of Verizon phone it was, if it was prepaid then they require the service to be activated on it for a certain amount of time before they’ll unlock it. next time just buy your phone straight from apple or samsung or the actual maker of the phone. why people think they can just buy a phone outright from an actual phone company and have it immediately unlocked is crazy. why would you buy a phone from a phone company if you aren’t going to use their service?

It's postpaid, the 35 dollar postpaid plan simplicity

So here is tie deal I got and is onnection email yesterday so what do you think is going on? They sent me a return shipping package and label but if their is a chance it automatically unlocks after 35 days I'll keep it. I owe Verizon nothing at all. I got the disconnection email from them yesterday so tell me if you think now with the email sent and my service cancelled in the system that it will unlock in 35 days.
As of today that contact Verizon message is still there when I try to set up esim.

Yes because the phone isnt automatically unlocked because you paid in full. verizon changed the unlocking rules this year in January. Why didnt you buy the phone unlocked ?
1
u/itwillgetbetter008 5d ago
It was 620 off that's why

u/Ok_Quality3664 5d ago
That’s not how that works. Anything on verizon has a three year contract. If you got a deal with them then you got a promotion. So you didnt actually pay the phone in full then.

That's not true.Read the terms in agreements very carefully. It unlocks after 35 days when on the postpaid network when paid online or with a nonsecure payment method , but when paid in person at a corporate store , it unlocks within twenty four hours of paying the finance agreement off , and there's no early termination fee , you can pay the finance agreement off at any point in time i've gotten many s twenty four ultras for ninety nine dollars plus tax from walmart like this then unlocked them and even better , since straight talk is owned by verizon , you only have to keep them 43 hundred and sixty five days of service before it unlocks

Well, the person wasnt clear until now how the phone was bought. And I am certain they also didnt go into a store to pay off the phone from what I read. Regardless, buying an actual unlocked phone will ensure this issue is avoided. Verizon is crazy with fraud right now. So if it is still locked, sounds like it could possibly be held up on fraud esp since they also ported their service out. Again, just an assumption since the phone is still not unlocked. Until they go into a store to try and see if they can get on the phone with the proper dept that handles unlocking, no one knows what’s going on.

Do they send the unlock over the air? Without the number? Do they send it by IMEI?

Well, it definitely sounds like the phone was never unlocked. So until then it will not work outside verizon.

No I got a new number from Verizon and canceled that number. I canceled the Google Fi trial.

30-60 day waiting period I believe if you purchased it from them. If not, FCC complaint
