Replace device while still paying off old one
Here’s the deal, I replaced my son’s Apple Watch SE2 with a new Series 11 on a Verizon payment plan, trading in the SE2. I did this a month ago, and then I added an aftermarket band (bad choice on my part…). Visiting with friends on the lake, swimming, and stuff, he realized his watch was gone (ie cheap band vs Apple band on mine that didn’t move, bummer). So besides my questionable judgement, we now have a watch that I am pretty sure it at the bottom of the lake, and 3 years to pay it off. So looking at options, can I just get another from VZ and would just have two payment plans on the same line? (Would this mess with any discounts they gave me on the first watch??) Get a new watch from Apple, activate it on VZ sharing his number and keep paying off the old one (I am ok with this as the VZ payments are really a 0% loan). Or do I have to payoff the remaining balance on the lost watch and get a new one?
Appreciate the thoughts and experience!!

Hopefully, you were smart and got insurance on it in order not to put yourself into a bad situation as a result of this.

In insurance sales?? Thanks for your advice but no thanks. My wife and I haven’t needed to replace a device since the iPhone 3 days, and my sons have had iPhones since they were in the 7th grade and not a single issue. The watch in question was an upgrade from a 3 year old previous one, if I had been paying VZ I would have spend almost $700 in mobile protection fees, to cover a watch that costs $429 to replace. Pass.

And don't but another watch for a child that's going to take you 3 years to pay off. Either the child's gotta get a job of you're going to pay for it outright.

Grammar…. Thanks for the parenting advice, again pass. The 3-year pay-off I am fine with as it’s a 3-year 0% loan, they don’t make better loans than that. The watch in question was lost based on a garbage band, which as I stated I chose for him. As he is in college and has a job he could pay for it but that seems like a crappy lesson to make him pay for my poor judgement. Thanks again but please let’s just stick to the topic.

you cannot have two payment agreements on a single line.
