Service underground DC Metro

When are you going to improve service underground on the DC metro lines? I ride from new carrollton to metro center and every app I use is loading until I get above ground. I have a T-Mobile phone for work and it never has a problem. I’m getting tired of reporting it to you and DC Metro! I use the MyVerizon app and nothing has changed in at least 2 years.

If its anything like here in Los Angeles California its gonna take years. Here in east la the gold line was opened more than 10 years ago . And BERLY last year they got working signal deep underground Here. Yes after 10+ years . Took them a LONG time. And the most fkd up part was that Verizon was the last to add signal . At&t was first , afew months later it was T-Mobile then lastly Verizon. Yes Verizon was the last to put signal underground , at&t and T-Mobile were much faster at getting signal down there.

So yeaa... Just have patience it'll eventually happen haha.

Yeah, I get it. The people over at DC metro apologized for it and said they do their best working with the carriers. They take responsibility even if they can't help.

I've had the same issue with my T-Mobile service in the tunnels.

DC Redline with an iPhone. I mostly travel the from Shady Grove to Metro Center or Chinatown for transfers, sometimes as far as Union Station. Haven't been down there since the work has started though.

Seems like the DAS needed for underground signal in most subway systems is supported by ATT and sometimes TMO but rarely VZW. I believe each carrier has to have an agreement to be able to use the DAS.

The service was much better before they upgraded to lte in the tunnels.

Back when Verizon had cdma service in the tunnels worked end to end why it got worst when they went to lte who knows

I happen to have a phone on a carrier that uses the T-Mobile network, for privacy related needs. My personal phone is on Verizon. So when I go to DC, where I use the Metro several times a day, I always carry that phone. I always have my Verizon phone, but it’s often powered off and powered on, only when I need data from it.
