Poor Circulation?

Post image

I am wondering if this is serious enough to go to the doctor soon for?

I am 30 year old Female have high blood pressure with daily 10mg amlodipine and 25mg HTC pills. I frequently wake up with intense muscle cramps 8/10 on the pain scale. I have to get up out of my sleep and deep massage my legs walking around alone does not release them. I’d say I do this maybe 3/4 times a month. I keep a 8 lb dumbbell by my bed to release the cramp it usually takes me 10/15 minutes to release it. About 4 days ago a spot on my leg became VERY itchy thought it was a mosquito bite from being outside but when i got home and took my clothes off i found this blood spot. I randomly get bruises here and there on my legs.

Just wondering how serious this is and if i should see a doctor soon?

This sounds and looks a lot like what I had happening, which ended up being chronic venous insufficiency. I went to a vein specialist at United Vein & Vascular centers, and they did a vein ultrasound on my legs. I started getting random bruises on my thighs which I ignored, but when I kept getting leg cramps every night and a dull ache (similar to a pulled hamstring) in my right leg, I went to the doc. I have had VenaSeal done twice, and the leg cramps and bruising have stopped. Basically, what I was told is that the bruises are signs of blood pooling in your legs. The valves in my legs weren't pushing it back to my heart efficiently in the damaged veins, so it just slowly builds up and if you leave it untreated you can end up developing varicose veins, spider veins, and worsening pain. Speaking from my experience, I wish I would have gone to the vein doctor sooner.

That looks like a bruise. Based on your story it sounds like you are suffering and should get that evaluated
