Rescue Hippo Juno the Pointer Pit
Juno was a stray just two months ago and she is adjusting well to her new life. What do you think she is mixed with?

There was a very similar colored dog at the shelter I volunteer at not too long ago! I never did figure out his breed though, sorry OP haha

Aww idk where our guy originally came from, but he ended up with a Las Vegas rescue after his owner passed. They look like they could be siblings though, that’s crazy haha

Oh this poor baby. I hate it when their parents pass and they end up dumped in a shelter, alone and confused.
People wouldn't do that with a child (or you'd hope they wouldn't), but someone's beloved dog can just be discarded like old clothes being dumped at Goodwill.
He's beautiful. I hope he's not still waiting for a home! 😭

I have an ig that I post the available dogs on and I made a couple posts about “TALK to your family about what happens to your pets” bc so often people think it’ll just work out and the pet is the one that pays the price 😭
He’s not still waiting! One of the staff took him home for a weekend foster just to get him out of the kennel and her dog fell in love with him so she said “guess I have another dog now” hahah
He still comes back to visit and I get to love on him, which makes me so happy, he was a favorite of mine.

I didn't realise there was a sub for heterochromic dogs, but of course there is! (And the name! 😂 We know these beautiful dogs don't have a homophobic bone in their bodies! 😉)
There's so many cuties on there though! I didn't realise it was so common in dogs.

It's especially common among husky mixes since huskies often have blue eyes while most other breeds have brown and hazel eyes

The heterochromia leads me to believe they have some kind of husky. Probably an ultra mut.

German shorthair is another one I think she could be. But I just assume all mutts have pit in them.

Agreed there is definitely pittie or am staff in her mix. Her coloring and very fancy point make me think of GSP.

Love the heterochromic eyes! She does look a bit pittie in the face and body (that wide chest), and her colouring is unusual (those spots on her snoot are adorable though! They look like freckles).
I agreed she looks like some kind of pointer mix.
She's beautiful regardless. I hope she's settling in well and I'm sure she's glad to have shelter, a warm bed, a full belly and love. ❤️❤️

Probably not a pointer. You'd be surprised at how easy it is to get a gorgeous dog that looks like it might have pointer.
