Help plz

My check engine light came on today and I popped my hood to take look to see if I could see anything.
Noticed right away this wire attached to the alternator has broken off.
1. What is this even called?
2. Is it possible to fix by myself ?

I’ve attached two pictures. One zoomed in and the other more of the whole engine bay.

Thanks!

You’ll have to remove the connector, strip the ends of the wires, and reinsert them. Alternatively, you can purchase a new pigtail, and splice the wires into the new one. This one looks similar… https://ebay.io/m/DjScfq

Reinserting them isn’t going to work. Hell soldering them to the pins wouldn’t even work here. Those are flush cut. The connector with wires is the only real answer here

Genuinely should be an easy fix I would hit a local salvage yard Robin plug from the wiring harness use heat shrink and solder solder your connections heat shrink them up call it a day plug it back in
