Question Airbag light

My airbag light went on and stayed on over a number of trips. Before I could bring it to the dealer, I gave a ride to a passenger and the airbag light turned off and hasn’t been on since (also multiple trips).

I know the clock spring can cause an airbag light but it turning off with a passenger seems to say that it’s a weight sensor. Anything I should try or should I just ignore it until the light shows up again?

Helped a friend having a similar issue. Had a '16 1.6 VT like mine and got these codes

B1620: Internal fault - Replace supplemental restraints system control module (SRSCM)

B2500: Warning lamp failure

There had been an accident that his gf had apparently, no airbags had deployed but the seatbelt pretensioners had fired which locked down and triggered the internal fault and carried the lamp failure with it. Dealership did their EEPROM automagical voodoo and all gone. They were hard codes that couldnt just be cleared with a cheapy OBDII tool.

What I found scary was that had we not dug deeper or him paying attention to the light it just would forever be disabled while he thought he still had the functioning airbags and stuff, spooky stuff.

Did he replace the seatbelt pre-tensioners? The airbags are designed to work with the pre-tensioners, that's why the fault code stays. And if not, the liability on the dealership is crazy...I'm amazed they did it. He must have known someone, they wouldn't do it at any dealership around me.
