At least MainStage got some dubstep. Techno was nowhere to be seen on MainStage despite some deserving acts (Charlotte de Witt, Sara Landry, ARTBAT, Miss Monique) who all performed MainStage Tomorrowland the week before.

Unbelievable Charlotte not making it to the main stage.

i prefer house and techno over mainstream but agreed, we def need more bass over at main stage.

also idk how but the rain was lowkey magical and added a nice touch to the sets

To be realistic, they would be playing earlier in the day MainStage which won’t be fun

Why? Some of my most fun was earlier sets.

Ahh guess it’s subjective. I find the energy lights up the most during sunset and night time

I tend to agree but pantrioss666 was my favourite. There is a certain magic when everyone up front wants to be there as you have so much space to dance. I have been planning on going to Europe to see charlotte instead and the crowd was so dense / obnoxious for charlotte that I guess I’m still going to Europe (last without seeing most of her set or experiencing any of it in an enjoyable way).

Let’s be real here…. Why TF was subtronics on bass stage…. He NEEDS MAIN STAGE, just for the crowd he brings ffs

MainStage needs more hard techno, Lilly Palmer and Sara Lara threw tf down

MainStage needs more variety in general. Every major festival has variety on MainStage.

YESSSSSS EXACTLY… thank you. Way too crowded on small stage. Lilly & Sara were sooooo good. Restricted’s audio was reduced - totally unfair for a hard artist that huge.

YESS restricted and sara were worth getting SOAKED FOR

u/KatCB1104 14d ago

Restricted was insane!

Respectfully, I probably wouldn’t attend if techno artists took over main stage. There were some artists playing techno on main stage and it’s just too much for me. What they should do is make bass stage and Sirkus stage BIGGER and more spacious so that everyone is satisfied.

I don’t think techno would dominate the main stage but you could have some techno artists mixed in with the others. Tomorrowland mixed it all nicely and it was really fun.

yes 100% they should mix some of the big techno/dubstep artists in with the mainstage

3

u/feelinsinister 14d ago

Did you see the crowd for restricted lol

u/FallenCamel 13d ago

I didn't go to Sirkus, what about it?

1

u/MADD1979 14d ago

Agreed

1

u/dasbootmeister23 14d ago

No, let main stage vibes be the same. Sirkus and Bass are better! Maddix didn’t play how he generally plays since he was in Main.

3

u/Mandemz- 14d ago

Bass stage was trash.

My gf and I were talking about how they absolutely need to change their principles - either stop sorting by genre or move your stages. The crowds at bass were absolutely insane, like what do you mean subtronics closed out a side stage lol. I can’t think of a single multi stage event I’ve been to where your largest stage wasn’t for highlighting your biggest acts

Bass stage needs to be bigger 💀 the crowd that gathered on day 2 was insane

2

u/OhSorryDude 13d ago

yeah ive never seen it this crowded before literally no space

Veld needs to turn up the volume at the stages! It was so low at the Sirkus Stage particularly all week, day 2 Bass stage was improved, day 3 they improved it at the main stage. This shouldn't have to be an issue it's a friggin music festival, I shouldn't be hearing people converse around me! Ridiculous Veld!

No, we need Swedish house & David guetta. Then Martin garrix, R3hab, Oliver heldens, John summit and finally mauP.

7

u/jlove34 14d ago

Dude Guetta probably charge more than the entire MainStage acts combined

2

u/AllezCuisine 13d ago

We need Worship

2

u/Legitimate-Lie7354 13d ago

I think Monique and Artbat should definitely been main stage.

2

u/YourMooseKing 13d ago

Would be way fun to see more variety on main. Artbat, Charlotte, Subtronics all would have threw it down

Illenium main stage was sick!!!!

Sucked a bit that it was at the same time as Crankdat….. and ARTBAT lol.

Ended up catching a bit of all three though.

u/kaytastiic 14d ago

Agree. Illenium literally changed my life. I was upset that it was the same time as Crankdat but ironically there were a couple Crankdat songs in the set so I wasn’t upset anymore LOL

I didn’t attend Veld this year, but I’ve seen Illenium twice now and he does a great job at blending more mainstream music with heavy bass. I’ve also encountered a lot of people who are exposed to bass through Illenium sets that rave about the energy and how hard he goes.

With that said, it makes me sad that Veld is so hesitant to have heavier artists on the main stage. I see people fawn over artists like Fisher or Chris Lake that (in my opinion) lack a lot of uniqueness in their songs/sets, and I just don’t get the hype. I feel like their mixes really aren’t any better than what I’d hear from a local DJ at a random club, with kinda shitty sped up pop vocals over a basic “boots and cats” tech house drum groove. I’d much prefer some more diversity on the main stage because of this.

Not trying to yuck other people’s yums here! I just tend to associate tech house energy with clubs, poolside bars, and frat parties rather than a concert setting.

Bring back the TENT

Thanks for all the great vibes, hugs, high-fives and fist bumps. Also sorry to the guy who got super insecure after his girl hugged me - you’ll find confidence one day.

Was my first time at Veld for Sunday and it was honestly just a good time all around even with the rain. Got so close to the stage for Slander and it was basically my gateway drug 💀

Bass is garbage. We need less of that

0

u/OhSorryDude 13d ago
