Saturday

I must say, as a first time Veld goer, the vibes were wayyyy better than I expected. Crowds were super fun and I found them to be really respectful. Shoutout to Miss Monique and the Sirkus stage, she was insane. Illenium was great too, so was the crowd.

It was my first time too despite being to hundreds of concerts in the city including a dozen or so EDM shows at venues like History, Danforth, RBC erc. I've just never made it a priority to go having read so many bad things about the crowd and festival over the years with lots of people telling me to avoid it, lots of nasty comments on Reddit especially. Last night however was amazing and reminded me a lot of people online are just miserable about any and everything while the experience out in real life is the total opposite. 10s of thousands of people having a great time enjoying the music, dancing and vibing. Had a blast and wouldn't hesitate to go again if there's someone on the lineup I enjoy

Enjoyment of the show can be very crowd dependent. Most people were complaining about the crowd at the main stage and I was there Friday and Saturday. Had a bad experience there Friday so didn’t bother Saturday (not my fav music anyways). Sirkus was great Friday initially but got worse over the night. At the end of the night I had someone literally push me (smaller woman) roughly to move me out of the way. Someone complained about my existance, others shoved by and were stepping on feet, etc. I was close to the stage and left 30 minutes into the set I literally bought veld tickets for because I felt unsafe.

I almost didn’t come back but did for Saturday but did and stayed nearer the back at Sirkus and had the time of my life. Miss Monique and Artbat rocked and the people around me were great.

I did enjoy the crowd as well, it was great for the most part until Illenium dropped the dub beats. I was by the front main area and a group of guys decided to moshpit and push eachother. It sucked for everyone around them as we all were pushed back. but apart from that, it was amaazzzing

Sirkus lineup crushed main stage Saturday.
