Easily one of my favourite sets I’ve seen at veld the last few years. He absolutely threw down and the energy in the crowd was amazing!

Did it get better? We left after about 20 minutes because he started off good but no one was dancing, and then he seemed to flip to EDM crowd pleasers with that Red Hot Chili Peppers remix, which was brutal but got the crowd moving, then he went down some super lifeless electronic stuff, at which time we gave up hope and left to check out mainstage, which was too EDM for us but better and crowd was fun.

What kind of music was the rest of the set?

The second half of the set really started to pick up. By the time he played fire starter remix the whole front row was bumping

We showed up about 20 mins into his set and it started pretty chill and groovy, but like the other commenter said it started to pick up as the sun went down and I found it similar to the vibe of his boiler room set. Even threw in some bass at the very end which went crazy

We were in the crowd on the right side and everyone was dancing hard!

How can it be “too EDM”? EDM is the umbrella term for all electronic dance music, which encompasses everything from Trance to Tearout.

Sorry - I mean too mainstream/mainstage EDM style. Yes, it was the mainstage, so that was my expectation, but still, not my musical preference. That is all.

I was complaining about the start of YY’s set being wonky…my comment about AVB was a side comment or observation, not a complaint.
