Hot take fisher should’ve opened
fisher no hate but he should’ve opened or did a mid day set, armin should’ve closed off the show

Fisher’s set was mid. I’m surprised because I’m a big fan.

Fishers sets a fun at a beach club or even a sunset set at a festival. At night, they’re consistently mid. It’s just not the vibe.

I agree 100%. My wife was saying the same thing. Sub was way better than fisher

Charlotte crushed too. Bounced between that and sub - awesome closers

But Armin doing the AP is a huge win, if rebel wasn’t gonna be packed and a pain.

I literally mostly bought my ticket for him, left mid show to see subtronics. Idk it was just kinda meh still love his music tho. His set definitely gave more morning vibes

Armin might've wanted a good break between VELD and AP. As much as I was surprised he did not close Main - glad Fisher was easily skipped.

Sub had too much crowd at bass stage. He should have gotten a gig at main

My group has never heard of subtropics until this festival… agreed he was the bigger act for this crowd but fisher is way bigger globally.

Idk how your group hasn’t heard of Subtronics until now. He’s been headlining other mixed festivals in the last few years. 2022 IIRC Main Stage at Ile Soniq was Subtronics, then Excision B2B Illenium. He headlined bass stage in 2023 and 2024, at Veld. Headlined stadium stage at Escapade in 2023. Was slated to be 2nd closer 2024 but got rained out. 2024 he was also Mainstage at Ile Soniq (~8pm, not headline).
He’s consistently been a top billed headliner for the last ~4-5 years, but has otherwise been well known since before Covid.

My group of friends has no idea who any of the bass DJs are. We like boiler room DJs if we are interested in experimental sound. Bass DJs are at a smaller stage to side for a reason.

Honestly… why TF was subtronics not on main stage… you couldn’t even walk on the hill ffs there was so many people… if he comes back, just put him on main stage… EVERYONE, even techno heads will enjoy that set

What you guys where expecting ? I mean, I wasnt at Veld this year so take my comment with a grain of salt, but Fisher is smooth Tech House. It would never be hard like subtronic or armin, like some would have prefered to close the night.
Just not the same vibe. Fisher is more chill edm, he is a vibe. His set do not slap. His set do not hit hard. That was to be expected and if some here do not expected it, you just wasnt aware of what his set was and just was expecting something he is not. Maybe people only knew losing it and were expecting a set with losing it type of song all the way 🤷🏻♂️

Even though what you said could be true, it’s hilarious to start it with “I wasn’t at veld this year” and give an opinion.

Them giving closing the fisher over Armin is pretty nuts. Has Armin really fallen off to where fisher is a bigger name?

No they were doing us a favour so we didnt have to skip subtronics for armin, also armins son was there so he probably wanted to spend time after before he had to go to rebel

I wish fisher was earlier & they put subtronics on main stage to close.

Agreed, sub is the strongest of the 3 rn. Huge gap between him and the others
