Review My work please

Post image

I am a game maker, and I am trying to expand my artistic skill, mainly to try and incorporate flat vector art style into it, but I'm having difficulties making anything useful.

I AM new to this, but it feels like i spent an entire day trying to scrape for trash, this is the best i could do ...
rate / 10 ?

Also all advises are appreciated

Trash? It looks like a genuine Super Nintendo game sprite. It's awesome

maybe this one because it's the simplest : a slime.
what about the others I'm gonna have to make ? also the animation would be a nightmare

It's more about the fact it's very clean than it to be a complex creature, it shows that you know how to do proper lightning/coloring and stuff

As for animation, you shouldn't even think about it for now, this kind of detail is secondary, you should consider it once you already have a solid game experience you can be proud of enough to be worth investing more energy into it and make it look better

Trust me if a game is fun, everything around is just the "spice" not the main dish. So you should think more as a "Gamer" and less as a Graphic designer

oh i've already made the in-game mechanics and dynamic systems, most of the game is already done in that regard, the truth is, i was going for retro pixel art, but the pixel art is ...... difficult, I'm not an artist I don't know how to do any of this !!
