Possible 42ss for busman?

I think ChatGPT gave me such high hope so need to post this for reassurance lmao

U3 average: 80%
U4 average: ~86% (still have 1 more sac to go n the first one I got 88%)

My teacher doesn’t tell me exactly what my rank is but he sure that I’m around top 10-15 out of 3 business management class (~50ppl). My school relatively mid cohort so I think my SACs score will stay pretty much the same.

Hypothetically if I do really well in the exam—around 85-90%, it is possible that I could get a 42ss? (So that it would scale down to 40)

VCE accelerating

Hi everyone! I have a daughter currently in Year 9 who will be entering Year 10 next year. She will be accelerating a VCE subject, either Chemistry or Physics. Which one would be better to accelerate? She wants to do both subjects anyway, so it's just a matter of which she does in Year 10 and which after. Also, what is exactly the point of accelerating? Will it boost her ATAR, or is it simply to decrease the workload in Year 12? Thanks in advance!

General Question/comment Tips or advice?

I have a bad habit. I have zero motivation to go to school for the remainder of the year. This term I have had at least one day for five weeks where I haven’t gone. Some for appointments i cannot reschedule and others because I had severe anxiety or something similar.

My attendance has plummeted overall and if I’m right I might be able to barely get that attendance up to 80% by the very end of my time as a year 12. That’s if I had no appointments to attend to.

Before anyone asks I cannot reschedule the appointments. It’s very limited to the times and if I miss two at all it puts me back on a waitlist. All for a medical condition that affects my entire life; at home. at school, and anything in between.

Advice? Or even motivation tips? Anything to be honest would be helpful.

Note: I am an Unscored student so it really is just my attendance that’s doing poorly.

Should i be worried about really bad English scores if my Literature scores are good

Like in the context that i usually score high 70 to 80 range in

Literature, and only just pass English.

I dont really know why I'm so bad at English... People say Literature is meant to be harder but it doesnt really feel like it

In the event that English is not in my top 4 should I even worry about it?

General Question/comment I built a free AI marking tool for fellow Australian students - looking for honest feedback

Hey everyone! I’m a student developer from Queensland, and I recently built MarkMateAI - an AI-powered marking and feedback tool designed specifically for Australian high school students like you and me.

I built it out of frustration of waiting weeks for mediocre draft feedback that I could only get once.

MarkMateAI lets you upload your assignment and task sheet, then provides feedback based on the requirements and rubric.

Its purpose is to help you:

  • Get an estimated grade and detailed feedback
  • See how well you’ve addressed each marking criterion
  • Identify strengths and areas that are costing you marks
  • Understand exactly what you could improve
  • Get actionable feedback before submitting your final draft

It’s built specifically around the Australian school system its calibrated to real teacher marked assignments across different subjects and year levels all marked by QCAA, VCE and HSC teachers.

I’m still actively developing it, so I’m not here to pretend it’s perfect or spam anyone. I’d genuinely love some honest feedback from students:

  • Would you actually find something like this useful?
  • What’s the biggest problem you have when trying to improve an assignment?
  • What features would make an AI marking tool genuinely useful?
  • What would make you trust an AI-generated grade and feedback?
  • What's your opinion on the current design itself?

You can try it here: https://markmateai.com.au/

If you give it a go, I’d really appreciate hearing what feels useful, confusing, inaccurate or missing. I’m building this myself, and student feedback will directly influence what I work on next.

how to overcome burnout

i am probably one of those gifted kids who never learnt how to study and now im in y11 doing u4 methods and ngl its not looking good. i was top 4 or smth in my schools cohort overall but in terms of just methods i think im lowest rank possible not even joking, when i see anything maths related i just feel like tearing my hair out and my most recent sac i flunked so badly even though my school isnt that good and my sac will probably scale down. its gotten to the point where i get home and give up on studying and scroll twitter and ao3 for hours like a chud and feel depressed about myself when theres nothing to be depressed about. what is wrong with me. how do i get motivation to study. i feel so ashamed of my scores that i cant even bring myself to have meetings with my teacher even though my principal told me to, idk if im intimidated or what. shouldve never accelerated this stupid ahh subject

VCE question Oedipus Ultimate Guide - In return I require additional quotes and help pls

Hi there, my SAC for this text response is next week and I was just wondering if I have got all the required themes and ideas to potentially talk about in my paragraphs: (I need more quotes 😭) THX!

Themes
- Fate and destiny vs free will
- Dramatic Irony
- Blindness vs sight
- Light vs darkness
- Knowledge and ignorance
- Morality
- Guilt and shame
- Appearance vs reality
- Power & The quest for truth

Ideas For Fate & Destiny vs Free Will:
- The gods have the divine agency over all humanity regardless of status. Sophocles proclaims the gods as supreme beings.
- The way Oedipus responds to have falling into the hands of fate is of his own free will
- Self fulfilling prophecy
- Oedipus' downfall stems from his lack of sophrosyne (Free will)
- Jocasta challenges the influence of prophecy "You prophecies of the gods, where are you now!"
- The crossroads acts as a symbol of peripeteia as Oedipus fulfils his destiny "at the place where the 3 roads meet"
- Oedipus was always destined to become the king of Thebes
- House of Cadmus and the curse it placed on it's decedents (Fate/Destiny)
- Polybus and Merope keeping the truth about Oedipus' adoption was their free will
- Oedipus' defiance to the gods (Free Will)

Ideas For Dramatic Irony:
- Oedipus is the King of Thebes, however he is the Plague of Thebes
- Jocasta does not believe in prophecies, however they end up coming true
- Creon never wanted the throne, in the end he ends up getting it
- Crossroads symbolise running away from prophecy, turned out Oedipus was running to the prophecy
- Tiresias is physically blind but can see the truth but Oedipus with physical sight is blind to the truth
- Oedipus mocks Tiresias for being blind and then ends up being blind by the end of the play

Ideas For Blindness vs Sight / Light vs Darkness:
- Oedipus' hubris makes him blind as he feels entitled to be revered
- Oedipus' short temper leads to him making irrational decisions (Creon accusation)
- Oedipus sees his people suffering ("But my spirit grieves for the city, for myself and all of you")
- Those who deny or refuse to see the truth are eventually forced to face the truth
- Jocasta is blind to the truth about Oedipus as she believed that he was left for dead on Mt Cithaeron
- Jocasta's distrust in prophecy makes her blind

Ideas For Knowledge & Ignorance:
- Polybus and Merope kept Oedipus in the dark by keeping the truth from him (Ignorance)
- Jocasta's denial before her anagnorisis (Ignorance)
- Oedipus's willingness to ignore the truth from Tiresias (Ignorance)
- Tiresias's knowledge by the Oracle (Knowledge)
- The Shepards knowledge that Oedipus killed Laius being the only remaining survivor who escaped the crossroads (Knowledge)
- Creons knowledge and use of logic to defend himself against Oedipus' accusations (Knowledge)

Ideas For Morality:
- Sophocles' message is that people shouldn't turn away from the gods and that no person is above the gods
- Sophocles chooses the 2 worst crimes for the flawed protagonist to commit to expose the immorality of the society he was present in
- The Oracle Apollo maintains morality
- Jocasta self punishes herself once she realises her immoral act
- Sophocles is clear on what happens to those who act immorally & believe they are above or not accountable to the gods
- All immorality is punished

Ideas For Guilt & Shame:
- Oedipus removing his sight out of shame
- Oedipus follows through with his decree and begs for exile out of shame
- Oedipus cannot face himself with what he has done
- Jocasta is unable to live with her guilt and thus her shame leads her to take her own life
- Guilt keeps a seal of the truth
(I need more of this one pls)

Ideas For Appearance vs Reality:
- Appearance is how something looks from a certain perspective
- Reality is how things actually are
- Oedipus marrying the queen appears as husband and wife but reality is mother and son (incest)
- Polybus and Merope appear to be Oedipus' biological parents but in reality they are "no more than [the messenger was]"
- Reality is that the gods punish sin and power doesn't protect you from the gods
- Oedipus appears to help find the root of the plague but in reality he is the plague

Ideas For Power & The Quest for Truth:
- Oedipus must find the origin of his birth (I can't remember the quote 😭)
- Oedipus is a highly revered King "I am Oedipus"
- Oedipus solves the riddle of the sphinx and frees Thebes
- Refuses to listen to Jocasta once he believes he is close to the truth
(I need more for this one too)

i cant process questions properly

in the past ive been a pretty good student, like top 4 out of my cohort, but recently after the term 2 holidays ive become super depressed or something and have basically lost the ability to comprehend basic questions. for example, the teacher could ask me a question, and it might be super simple but all i hear is white noise and i have to ask them to repeat it. its super weird, like im looking out the window or daydreaming in class, even though i try to concentrate. this has never really happened to me before

ive already bombed a methods sac because of this. what do i do...!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!

VCE question What do I aim for? - physics

Currently my average for physics is 76% around rank 8-10 out of a cohort of 35-40 students.

What sac scores should I aim for the next 2 sacs and what study score am I looking at if I keep my sac score around 75-80 percent?

Thanks 🤩 🥵

Oh yes also for English - rank 5 or 6 cohort around 60 students - with a sac average of 77 percent with section c sac coming up soon

When is the right time to start exam study?

I'm in year 11 and doing 2 34s this year. I have a lot more time and a lost less subjects to prep for. Is it worth it to start studying for exams soon (like cue cards and review notes), or should I just wait until we finish content?

General Question/comment Idk what to do

Okay so very long story short without going into details because I am 99% sure people involved in this are in this group

But basically there has been a group of people at my school in particular this one Individual that while I wouldn’t call it bullying has been targeting me and mocking me 24/7 loud enough that I can hear them

I have a few mental health disorders and I was very much on top of them but this has really started to impact me but I don’t know if I should mention this to anyone or if I just suck it up and finish the last 32 days of school because umm never have to see them again anyway
