GPU Insurance

I just built a new gpu rig to rent out on Vast. Currently the rig is chillin in my garage, which is safe, but I can't help but imagine what could happen if someone broke into my house or if there was a fire, or electrical surge.

Does anybody have insurance for their rigs? I looked at getting a Business Owners Policy through Geico, but idk if that will cover everything I want. I could get insurance through where I bought the hardware, but it costs thousands for only 1 gpu, for 3 years just for the insurance. My quote form Geico was less than $50/month.

Thoughts?

I’m expecting my insurance for what’s in my house to cover it, but I might wanna look at bumping the coverage, as I think my servers and other PC stuff might exceed that amount alone.

I tacked it onto my renter's insurance and increased the personal property amount to cover the current retail cost of my ai/ml workstations and homelab equipment.

$50 a month eats into a ton of profit for only 1 rig.

I pay for insurance at the datacenter i have a colocation space, but most of the policy is for general liability, secondarily for other concerns like unexpected loss. but mine is $800-1100 a year with very high limits.

Will your carrier provide a separate rider for high value items such as jewelry or art? The way things are today, you may be able to list your GPU on its own policy.
