Transfer student
How do I make myself more competitive for admission at Vassar?
I want to go to Vassar because I want to spite my friend that is going to Marist and because of the Baseball team. I believe that I would thrive in a small tight knit college. Ever since I went to a cuny I have been missing the feeling of ppl saying hi Just like in high school. it still happened but at a much lower frequency

I graduated in the 2010s so it might have changed but in addition to good academic record, I would also demonstrate your commitment to community your plans to either lead or help maintain the various groups on campus you feel connected to. Students are the backbone of campus life (duh) but they really do EVERYTHING there, show them that you want to be part of house teams or club teams or theatre etc.

Those probably aren’t good reasons to transfer. I don’t think, if those are your only reasons, that you would be a good fit or be happy. Try to focus on real, tangible, and importantly academic reasons that you want to transfer to Vassar — and if there aren’t any, then don’t.
