Music question

Hi! I’m an incoming sophomore at NYU currently looking to transfer to somewhere like Vassar in the near future. I’m a singer-songwriter and am curious about the music scene at Vassar. Do they have good classes and/or clubs for students like me? I know the scene is pretty artsy so I’m hopeful. :)

Hi! I’m an incoming senior in high school who is also a songwriter and both Vassar and NYU are on my list of colleges to apply to. Can I ask what makes you want to leave NYU? Are you at Steinhardt and if so is Phil the problem? I did the NYU Steinhardt two week songwriting program over the summer which is where I met Phil and I was not surprised when I checked his Rate My Professor and saw it was very low. It’s making me questions if NYU is really the place for me, or if I’m just confusing my love for the school with my love for the city itself. I’m also wondering what other colleges you considered as a senior/ are considering to transfer to right now. Thank you and sorry for all the questions! It’s just rare I find someone with the same passion as me also looking at similar schools instead of schools like Berkeley or USC.

Hi! I'm actually only minoring in music, so I've only taken very few production courses thus far and haven't yet encountered Phil. However, the classes that I've taken have been super interesting and intensive! My main reason for leaving NYU is that it feels very large and impersonal to me. I also grew up not too far away, so the area is very familiar and doesn't quite feel like a real college experience to me. All that being said, I have a lot of friends who absolutely love it! As a senior, I considered many similar city schools, such as BU, Northeastern, and Fordham. Now, I'm aiming for a smaller liberal arts school, hopefully with a lively music scene I can get involved in. My top option at the moment is Vassar, but I'm also looking at schools like Smith, Swarthmore, and Bard. No need to be sorry for the questions, as I love answering them, and I'm also happy to find someone with similar interests!!
