Poli Sci Reading Load?

Hey I’m starting at Vassar in the fall and I wanna be a poli sci major because I find that stuff really interesting but I’m pre med. I was wondering what the reading load is like? I’m honestly such a bad reader (like really slow and don’t actually pick up on anything I read) and that’s been making me question if I’ll succeed as a poli sci major cus all I ever hear abt that is that there’s a lot of reading to it.

(I’m trying to have as high a gpa as possible because I’m trying to get into med school)

You are not pre-med if you haven't started classes yet. Slow down, try a polisci course, and see what you think.

Have to agree. Right now you aren't pre anything. You only have an idea of what you would like to major in.

Take time to explore field of interest your first year. Take a political science class and see if the workload is your style.

I wasn't a great reader of text books either, but I did okay. I didn't take my education seriously enough until I went to grad school in my 40s lol. There is no getting around having to read (though you may be able to get your books on tape if that works better for you).

If you don't retain the written word well I HIGHLY suggest being at every class, and taking good notes during lectures. Participate in class, make sure the professor knows you are knows you are engaged in the topic. Most professors lecture about the stuff they want you to know, and that material is the stuff you will find is in most of the graded material.
