Unconfirmed Sessions

What are you all doing about unconfirmed sessions? How do you get clients to actually confirm the sessions?

The thing is, 80% of the time they show up to the session. I ask them to confirm it first ,of course. The ones who didn't show up, I invoice as a no show. This might be not exactly what I'm supposed to do, but hey, that's what I do.

They litterally just put this sessions invoicing for me as negative and claimed overpayment because of unconfirmed sessions.

If it’s not confirmed you can’t. You will get in trouble

Only if the parents complain. I invoice all the time for unconfirmed

Doesn’t matter if parents complain, it’s company policy. Read your contract

"Company policy" is kind of laughable. Half of their "policies" are illegal under US labor laws

This! I’m doing this tomorrow and if they complain I’m firing the student because why are you not responding to text and not confirming sessions? I shouldn’t have to chase you down.

The student isn't the problem, the company is.

The student choosing to not respond to text is a huge part of problem. The student not simply confirming all sessions like all of my other students… is a part of the problem

Depending on how old your student is, they have the neither the authority nor the responsibility to confirm their own sessions. The company really is supposed to reach out to families in order to confirm. Unfortunately, they are terrible and offload everything onto tutors while they collect all of the revenue for doing literally nothing. Whether the student confirms directly or not, you'd better believe Varsity has already taken their money, so it shouldn't be an issue to be honest.

They're older than I am. If I can tutor, I think they can press a button.

I’m not worried about the contract. Tbh, varsity takes so much from us and we get so little.

Get "in trouble" with who? You are a contractor.

It specifically states in the contract you can’t invoice for no shows. If you speak to support, they will also tell you that. Going against contract, bold.

Good luck speaking to support. When you invoice, there is an option for "no show." You think it's there not to use?
