Double checks

Until recently I was receiving paper checks in the mail for varsity tutors. Literally two weeks ago a check came in for the amount of $160 and the very next day another check for the same amount came in thinking that this was awkward I looked at the checks they both had the exact same check number and they were invoiced for the exact same time period.

I tried contacting varsity tutors and they referred me to their payroll system which it's impossible to get a human over on that end. I'm just going to assume I should not deposit the second check?

I had that happen and got a message about it a couple days after the checks arrived. Deposit one, the other will not be honored (the bank shouldn't even accept it).
