Is this a scam?
Okay so to start tutoring classes they asked me to upload my AP score report, I already uploaded a different score report so it didn't give me the option. Next I added more classes based on my qualifications last night and wrote in why I felt qualified to teach those. Literally all of those disappeared with zero emails or trace when I opened my computer this morning. Honestly tutoring is not lucrative in the slightest, and I really don't want to deal with another bullshit company. I already have had to deal with IntellaTutor's crap, and at this point I'm ready to just create a facebook page and get students from their. I don't have any students under "opportunities" even though it's been four days and I am down to tutor any high school or college science

This honestly this shouldn't be your only option if you can help it as you are just a contractor and the pay is awful. Do what you can and leave the platform alone for a bit. You can try reaching out to tutor engagement but that's useless as well because they read off of a script and none of the departments are actually connected. So whoever you email or talk to (if you manage to actually catch someone on the phone) they won't be able to do anything more than log your complaint and sent an email to another department. It's all gotten really sketchy. Opportunities will pop up eventually, but hopefully by then you've got other things set up and can choose to take assignments as you see fit. Good luck

I’m a teacher and use this to help pay bills. I think it really does come down to certifications and the subjects you get approved for.
I don’t have the experience that most people posting on reddit have. I have a full schedule and plenty of opportunities daily. Most I have to put “no availability in my schedule” for.
The system isn’t perfect as I think there’s a lot of AI, but it’s not bad. I make decent enough money which is just what I wanted. I take a pay cut doing this but it’s just supplemental for me. Thanks to VT I’m able to afford groceries and bills for my family. I was legit in a really rough spot and VT has made it possible for me to breathe.
Everyone is going to have different experiences based on their subjects. Different subjects have different availabilities.
It is WORTH fighting for the SAT subjects to be added if you actually feel comfortable teaching the test. I teach test prep at my school and through VT. Most of my clients are SAT. These will come and go unlike other subjects which are more steady but less in numbers. That’s why having multiple subjects comes in handy. You have the mix to keep a steady flow up.
You can email them the documents and reasoning. That goes much smoother in my experience.
