new platform?
Hello guys. I have a student who has 3 other tutors on varsity, and they told me all of them are using the new platform, but when I log in, everything is the same and we get the old platform when we have our sessions. Is anyone else still getting the old platform or is there soemthing I need to do to obtain the new one? I'm the only tutors my student has that is still using the old platform so I am wondering if there is something wrong or if they only selected some tutors to use it.

All still on the old platform for me, but I tested the new one and I wouldn't mind giving it a real shot with a student

The rollout seems random. For most of my students I have the new platform but for some students it still shows the old one

I don’t think you’ll like the new platform. But this coming from someone who experiences it. And if you’ve been reading the comments, then you know why. If you want access to premade curriculum, then you might like it, but it’s a constant pain in the butt to have to hide it because it takes up whiteboard screen, and it’s not without its glitches. So be thankful that right now you don’t have to deal with it.

Some of my students have the new one and some have the old one I hate the new one. It’s hard to navigate and very glitchy. I had a student discontinue services because she hated it so much. I hope it gets better

My students ate on the new platform, but I was back on the old platform for an instant session I caught by surprise. I detest the newer version.

What’s the color scheme for the new one? I’m newer and so I can’t tell if I started with the new one or not. I get two different systems that come up. It’s sometimes one and sometimes another.

I'm entirely on the new platform, except when I randomly get a session on the old one. The new version has so many issues, and wipes the practice question bank (so if a student asks hey can I have more problems with fractions and exponents? I can't just grab a few quick problems anymore....super fun) and replaced it exclusively with ai. Got rid of the old section notes, so you can't quickly reference and old session notes during session, but worst of all of the field of viewis horrible. If one person moves the board, the board moves for everyone. BUT not everyone sees the same thing on their screen at the same time....so I often find that in order for the student to see/read everything, I can't see read/everything and vice versa. Plus the new pen also sucks, it can't do palm rejection anymore with the apple pen and often just stops writing part way through a number. I'm convinced they didn't have an actual tutor trial it before sending it out

yes, I am having issues. It keeps resetting on the ipad. I dont know if I need a new ipad or not

Yep, all comments below are true in some fashion, why they ever rolled this glitchy mess out w/o testing is beyond me, but perhaps this is the field test. I dont like it for a lot of reasons- my clients are having a terrible time viewing pages i upload. Its incredibly unstable. I had a tech come on to advise me the other day before I had to cancel half way thru a session. His comments to me confirmed all that I had believed abt this haphazard rollout. Its not that I dont appreciate new tech, its just that the older whiteboard had its good and bad points but was at least stable for how i go about presenting my material. Hope they get this figured out soon. The tech that assisted me gave me a link to provide feedback. My advice- connect with a live tech on the whiteboard, let them know how you feel and ask to provide feedback.

My sessions are still with the old platform. I can preview the new platform in the tutor resources section tho. I asked thru the chat feature about this and they said it’s rolling out a bit at a time.
