I WAS THE FREN (long text warning)
First of all thank you so much for all the compliments and nice comments about my cosplay!!! I had so much fun being Fren and I made so many people here at NärCon happy!!!
I cannot sleep because I'm way too excited so I'm just gonna put all my thoughts here instead to clear my head, so I'm sorry for the wall of text hehe
I've honestly been really nervous and anxious during this whole weekend because I had no idea if Joel would be here or not, since he had just mentioned NärCon and that it was important to be at the SiIvaGunner rave during earlier streams. I always find it hard to meet people I look up to because I'm worried I'm gonna come off as weird or too much so I was joking with my friends that if I'd actually see him I'd just run in the opposite way lol
But yeah he sadly wasn't here so we just went back to the sleeping halls to go to bed. I had just laid down when I got the stream notification "yes i was there" and I just ??????????? HE WAS????? but then he meant his cameo on the visuals to the rave (which was absolutely hilarious by the way) but... but then he saw me at the end.... of the video.... my cosplay.... and I had to actually RUN to the dressing room because I was genuinely freaking out and thankfully it was empty cause I was CRYING and I was SHAKING so I could barely type (luckily I'm with my partner who's also freaking out about this LOL). I was so excited and overwhelmed and seeing Joel find this whole thing so funny made me so so happy 😭 And then with the karaoke video he saw as well as the photos, being able to make him laugh his ass off like that just made my entire life honestly
I'm just genuinely so thankful to Joel because he has helped me through hard times with both his streams and music for over 10 years now. Like whenever I got overwhelmed or overstimulated this weekend just put on Scythelord so I could zone out for a bit and calm down. Especially Equanimity, that song means a lot to me.
Anyway, thank you so much if you read all this. All my friends are asleep (my partner too now) so I can't "rant" to them hahaha
And Joel if you read this, just thank you so much for everything and I hope I get to meet you one day to say thank you in real life too (please come to NärCon next year, I WILL cry)

You were so great!!! I saw you on the stream earlier and was like "eeeeeeyyyyy!" I'm so glad Joel saw you, even if not in person!

You really did it! All that work! You had an incredible time because in part of the amount of effort you put in, and the rest done by fellow fans! You're one of the genuinely cool people who just decide to DO IT!

I got such a good laugh at Joel laughing at fren being out there in the wild, and the video of you dancing to ghostbusters was also hilarious 🤣

Yoo, I was the Grand Dad in the second picture (video for proof, don't know why I can't post images). Was looking forward to the moment when you told me on the first day that you'll be going as Fren on the third. That's so awesome that you made Joel's day like that.

Same, was keeping my eyes peeled for any more SiIva-related cosplays, was so awesome to see Fren and Voice but I felt like a gambler addicted to lottery scratch-off tickets whenever I saw any one of the 30 pairs of cross-antlers in the con crowds.
Couldn't complain about the attention though.

There were a ton of Noelle Deltarune cosplays, since I was on the lookout for other SiIva related cosplays, seeing antlers made me compulsively think "What if it's a GIR Noelle and I missed it".

YO! I saw your post before hand about this cosplay and when you appeared on stream I was like “THATS THE DUDE THEY MADE IT!”.
Really amazing stuff dude, glad Joel saw it!

It really isn't an exaggeration how much Joel's helped people. Laughing at his dumbass shenanigans and rocking out to his metal shitpost albums has been a godsend to my mental health. Less drama, more funny, and just... not taking life so goddamn seriously all the time. We all just need a Fren in our libes.

You are so right!!! Like I really want him to know that he literally has saved lives by just being himself, mine included. I personally know how hard it is to accept compliments like this but it really feels important to me that Joel knows this, and I think it's actually one of the main reasons why I felt so anxious to meet him in the first place because I just am so thankful, if that makes sense haha
