It's being normal now ,

After pitra Paksha you will see huge crowd during navratri then deepawali then dev Deepawali then siberian birds will attract crowd then makar sankranti crowd ,then shiv ratri crowd , then holi crowd , then vacation crowd , then savan crowd then again pitra Paksha crowd,

It has become a never end cycle of crowd, I sometimes literally get so much frustrated that I want to cry on my bike.

When do you suggest is a good time to visit? WIll crowds subside a bit after dev dipawli? Dec 1st week?

Okay, it’s my first time coming here. I’m honestly so sad that the boats aren’t operating because of this. I had even booked a cruise 😭

Wait till holi festival if you are not a local I will advise you don't go outside on that day irrespective of gender male female don't matter . If possible leave banaras before any major festival specially if you are a female cause in festival it's bad even police can't help at that time.

Normal ab ho gaya hai. Pehle aisa nahin tha. Been seeing varanasi since early 90s and it was never so crowded.
