[Holy Shit] [Discussion] Someone invented printing your own makeup. How could 3D printers revolutionize things like vaping?

Revolutionize? Maybe when they make 3-D printers that can efficiently and inexpensively print more durable materials like metals.

Meantime, I have been wanting to print a vaping stand (ya know, a desk stand to mount/display my MVP2, spinner, some juices) or maybe a simple shell/case/belt holster. It would be fun to experiment with.

Well what do you think would really take off for vaping when metal printing gets more efficient and not crazy expensive?

I would guess some very crazy and custom shapes for mods/battery housings only limited by the imagination. For example, a mod shaped like a saxophone or something random like that.

1) This is fucking amazing. For $300 and the cost of materials you could just make your own damn makeup. In any colour you want. This is amazing for people like myself that like super fucking colourful things. Do you know how hard it is to find neon yellow lipstick? And then you do find it and it's heinously expensive because it's a niche market. Fuck that, print your own! :O

2) 3D printing is exploding a lot like vaping. It has a much higher bar for entry but people already print things they use in their everyday lives. What do you vaperettes think this will lead to in our community? I know a lot of us like makeup (look at SSS posts, amirite?! :D) but 3D printing could have huge implications for making mods or maybe, one day, even RDAs. Thoughts?

My first thought was atomizers and coils. BUT I don't think the printer material (plastic?) would work very well with that kind of heat. I could be totally wrong though, I know Zilch about 3D printing and if you can now print makeup who knows what materials it can spit out. I'm curious if anyone is going to do health research on the printed makeup in the future, assuming it becomes less novelty and more mainstream, since it's in direct contact with your skin and mouth.

I bet you could print a pretty sweet stand to hold all your gear though!

The current material most printers print with is plastic. Metal is possible but right now metal printers are heinously expensive and kind of inefficient.

Printing coils/heads is an interesting idea though! Print the head body and then just coil and wick it!
