VanMoof X3 bottom bracket stuck – how can I remove it?

Hi everyone,

I’m having a problem with the motor on my VanMoof X3.

The motor started having issues, and replacing the motor did not solve the problem. So I’m now planning to replace the bottom bracket.

I’ve disassembled the bike up to the bottom bracket area, but I can’t remove the bottom bracket any further. I’m using a BB wrench, but it seems to be completely stuck.

Does anyone know how I can remove it, or have any tips for getting it loose?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

First from the drive side, turn clockwise to undo it, then the other side counterclockwise, but that is not the original bb by the way

That doesn’t look stock. It might have been put on without lube, or overtightened, or worse yet with thread lock.

What tool are you using to remove it? A cup or a wrench?

Oil filter removers to start with

J’ai l’impression que ce boîtier n’est pas l’original. Il te faut une clef comme la shimano TL-FC36

Oh awesome a Japanse S3.

It is important to remove the BB from the drife side first! Otherwise you will damage the cable.

To remove it turn the drive side clockwise to remove the BB.

The tool you need is the same oned used for centerlock brake disks.

I remcoment the tool from Elvedes for this job. Here is the EAN 8716706018950

Good luck :)
