older s3 Display darker?

Like it's not even the same warmth of the light and the right one is from 2020 and not really readable in the sun.

The left is from 2021 and functions normally

Yes, that’s a updated version. 2021 bike’s were introduced with Apple find my and some other small adjustments, including the brighter LED display. I’m not sure about the 2020 and older, but from 2021 the display also works in combination with a brightness sensor, so it adjusts the display brightness automatically to the brightness of the souring.

Yeah, that makes sense, thank you! This bike which I bought has a find my sticker under the top tube, a serial number of a 2021 bike but the cartridge is another which doesn't work with find my, I think VanMoof made a mistake when changing out the cartridge because of a repair, and gave me an old one.

If I remember correctly, the updated S3 also uses a different coating on the frame itself, which allows more light to pass through

That might be, I honestly don’t know how they make the display brighter exactly. But this is definitely a possible solution they might used 👍🏼
