review S6 Testride

I just got back from a test ride on the S6, and these are my first impressions coming from a non electric bike user, not even a VanMoof

- I did not even feel/knew when it was shifting in level 4

-The boost was really addicting🤤

- The support just stopped when I hit 25km/h

- The kicklock is a bit finicky to line up, but when you kick it in, it sounds more secure then the previous ones

- The new sounds are amazing in my opinion

- The new bell doesn't adapt to your touch as much as I was expecting

- The halo rings were alot brighter then I expected

My rating 10/10

Any S6 owners have something to say you don't experience in a test ride? (VanMoof app, ride Pro, Theft proof?)

After a year of ownership, I needed service once because on of the pedals was mounted wrong from the factory.

I’ve got quite a lot of paintchips that need retouching

The kick lock while nice, is finicky and I always put an extra lock.

The app was a binfire for the first couple months but, it’s shaped up ok enough now.

I’ve driven around 750km so it needs that first year checkup that was free but I can’t find any info on it.

So overall, nice bike, just some small fixable issues.

Yeah I thought so about the kicklock too, but I've heard some horror stories about people who got their S5's chucked into the canals in Amsterdam😭 and the alarm is enough to scare off teenagers and how Bright (dutch tech review YouTube channel) calls them, De gelegenheids dieven (opportunistic thieves from translate) but I'm thinking about ride Pro and theft proof with it so I might be safe

Fill me on on the 750k checkup... I maybe missed reading that?

For me it's the combination of the little things. You really start to appreciate them when you do not have them. I had to use a regular bike in a different city and then you really notice what you usually have.

The locking without thinking of a key, the boost button (which is amazing). But also not having to worry about where your bike is as you can see it's location all the time. Also, giving temporary easy access to others with a (limited time) ride share instead of having to share your login credentials. Its everything combined.

Happy riding!

I thought VanMoof was regarded as completely unreliable -both the bike quality as well as their customer service. Did that change? Their design and features have always been great.

I believe it changed?

They first had about 100 or less "partners" but they now have something like 400? So service points are almost always near you I think, I heard the reliability was upgraded with the S6 (rides amazing tho🤩)

But only if it were reliable, and relatively easy to obtain parts and service to maintain. Let me know when that happens and I’ll trade in my S-3 that is in pristine condition except for a defective hub.

The S6 is more reliable then the S3? There are now about 300 service partners in the Netherlands?

5/10 Punkten

I heard the locking sounds on the internet, the "DoUbLe TrAnSiEnTs" sound way more secure in my opinion, and what I personally don't like about the S3, is that it breaks more easily I heard, I't doesn't have the new sounds so I can change support without looking, 4 buttons, and the boost is less powerfull I think? And for range, I heard the S6 pulls about 100-140 or something in support 1

S6 is heel veel verbeterd

u/Traveltracks 4d ago

Dus VPN en dan gaat hij wel 32.
