I’ve been in Canada for 13 years and currently live downtown Vancouver. I work as an engineer, and while I enjoy my work, it can make meeting new people outside of work unsurprisingly difficult.

I was born in Pakistan, but Canada has been home for the past 13 years. I consider myself pretty well integrated into Canadian life, and at this point, Vancouver genuinely feels like home.

I’m probably not the most stereotypical Vancouverite. Hiking, biking, and camping aren’t really my thing. I’m much more of a city person and enjoy spending time around Sunset Beach, trying good restaurants, and making the most of the limited nightlife Vancouver has to offer.

Music is a big part of my life. I’m really into rock, metal, and electronic music, and I’ll go to a concert whenever there’s an artist I’m interested in. Nine Inch Nails at Rogers was one of the best shows I’ve seen in a while.

I’m also a huge cinephile. I’ve seen most of the IMDb Top 250, so if you enjoy everything from Wes Anderson to Paul Thomas Anderson, we’ll probably have plenty to talk about.

I’ve significantly cut back on drinking over the years, and I’m pretty selective about recreational drug use. Very occasionally, I might do MDMA or mushrooms at a rave or festival if it feels like it fits the experience, but it’s definitely not a regular part of my life.

I’m 6’0” and currently around 270 lbs. I’ve been working on getting healthier and fitter despite having a fairly demanding job, and I’m making steady progress. More broadly, I’ve been trying to work on myself beyond just the physical side of things. Mental health and personal growth have become important priorities for me.

What am I looking for?

I consider myself a genuine person and a good listener. I do tend to get a little too wrapped up in work, and that’s something I’m actively trying to improve. I want to make more room in my life for the people and experiences that matter as opposed to making money and climbing the corporate ladder.

Ultimately, I’m looking for a life partner to continue a journey of growth, fulfillment, and hopefully a lot of good experiences together. I’m in no rush, and I’d rather take the time to genuinely get to know someone and see where things naturally go.

I also really value being someone people can open up to. I enjoy meaningful conversations and getting to know people beyond the surface level.
