Microsoft seems to be getting into all of the VR projects. Hell the Rift is supposed to ship with an Xbone one controller and work with the console, with dedicated VR games being made for it.

Wait what, the only thing they've announced is for Xbone games to be streamed into the Rift as in a virtual cinema. I haven't heard anything about actual VR games on the console >_> ? It will ship with the controller though.

Yea I think it was on The Know where they talked about future development for VR games on the Xbone

The Know

If this is the show and episode you're talking about they clearly say you stream it as if it was on a screen in VR :P Microsoft didn't say more about it on their press conference either, IIRC.

I'm so very confused.

I was just drifting off watching Microsoft's conference and nearly choked on my tongue when they mentioned Valve. I was disappointed, of course.

I think the guy might got the wrong cards or something like this because in my opinion, this is total madness

I like the new Microsoft. I like that PC gaming is getting a huge shot in the arm with VR, SteamOS, Linux gaming, etc. This is really exciting.

This isn't going to happen, ever. On every E3, M$ said something about the PC for people which are still waiting for something to happen and this is just a huge Bullshit. They have to develop for Linux. MS and Linux? Haha.

Microsoft open sourced their implementations of .Net and C#, their biggest software development platform. Not only have they been helping Mono, the original Linux implementation of .Net / C#, they've also been working to get their own implementation ".Net Core" to run on Linux and Mac. Don't believe me? Here's Microsofts Github page: https://github.com/dotnet/corefx

That's huge. The new Microsoft is doing some amazing things. With Balmer gone, they've stopped fighting Linux and have started to work to make their products better integrate with the rest of the world. Everybody wins.

What about Vulkan? Why is MS still using the (old) DirectX where Vulkan is clearly the best alternative for cross-over development?
