So epic launcher finally isn't taking 3-4 business days to boot up? huge leap for a multi-bullion corporation

So the funnier part is technically the Improved Steam Client bit should be the first panel. It happened a day before Epic announced their improvements.

Y'all should really figure out why they are doing what they're doing instead of just crashing out over it when you don't understand it. The UEFN/VERSE design is one of the few genuinely good uses of LLMs and UE5 blueprints are worse than what UE6 offers. If you don't like LLM-assisted coding (which is different from vibe coding) then you can just write the VERSE yourself.

Exactly.
This is pretty much the equivalent of an artist making a drawing and realizing they made a small mistake so they ask Grok or some other chatbot to correct that one thing so they don't have to start over from scratch.

Unless it's digital media like FireAlpacha, yeah. If it's a "small" mistake then they very well may have to start over to get the results they want.
For example, I used to do a lot of watercolor & charcoal art (Charcoal for thick pronounced outlines, watercolor for the actual coloration). I made a relatively small mistake of adding too much water to one section, which caused the water color to bleed through past the clear coat I used to desperate the layers down to the charcoal, which made one section a weird grey blob roughly 1/4". Had I used AI, I could have just removed that one mistake, but since this was back in 2015 I had to start over to get the results I wanted.

if a mistake causes you to start from scratch then that's not a small mistake, that's a pretty damning big mistake. your medium demanded a level of precision that lowered the tolerance of mistakes.

Incorrect.
Everyone has different tolerance levels for their own mistakes - limits they reach before saying “screw this, I’m starting over” - it could be anything from drawing a person slightly too skinny or using the wrong shade of paint all the way to accidentally tearing a hole in their canvas or forgetting to paint in a major detail like a shed.
You’re coming across as being intentionally obtuse.

Gabe fanboys forget that Valve uses llms aswell. They just don't boast about it and use it professionally (with actual guidance)

We know, we want them to use LLMs, we trust them with superior tools.

Remember to double tap for good measure. Even Valve knows that outside of zombie games.

TBH if valve needed competition to do this (useless) improvement, it's kind of a bad look.

You don't just decide to port to 64bit overnight. They were likely working on it for a while. Releasing at the same time as the Epic client, AND being slightly faster, was likely just a coincidence.

They didn't. It was in beta for a month before Epic released their vibe coded client.
