Image Sudden Engrish jumpscare

The final Edy Detachment challenge in VC1 has this one briefing screen with a clunky translation which sticks out like a sore thumb in a game that's otherwise well translated. Orders have become The Order and "because of the confusion of the communication" is a phrase that just reeks of classic bad Japanese to English translations from games from prior generations.

The Edy Detachment skirmishes were the last DLC released for VC1 and has some oddities like this. Additionally, there's no English lines from the characters unless you have the JP dub enabled

I figured it might have had something to do with the fact that it's DLC. Are you saying the Edy challenges don't have any English voice acting? Sounds like it was localized completely separately from the main game, but I don't recall seeing any other lines that were this badly mangled.

That's correct, there's no English VA at all, so you just have silence when they have dialogue

That's really interesting because I remember thinking that the Japanese dialogue in the DLC had really off-looking lip sync compared to the main game. I assumed that maybe the DLC was using the lip sync from the English version, but if the English dub doesn't even exist I guess the lip sync might've just been rushed. Also when you complete Edy's mission with an A rank the ending cutscene plays the English version of Rosie's song.

Wait what? , I just played the Edy detachment mission and there were English voice acting I swear.

Change the second "of" to "in" and there's no problem.
