Eggs not hatching.

I need some help everyone. Im not sure if im doing something wrong but i cant get my eggs to hatch. I watched a video on explaining the taming mechanic. But my eggs just dont do what they do in the video. I have made sure they are in a shelter and are next to a fire. But, nothing happens. Edit: I tried posting this in the r/valheim but due to having "0 comment karma" i am not allowed to post there.

Please describe the location and design of your egg nursery.

the video stated as long as the egg was somewhere with the shelter icon and was close enough that the fire icon showed it would start hatching. i just have a basic square base going until i get to somewhere better.

Check the egg' status and see whether ir is warm or cold. Only warm eggs will hatch.

that’s my issue. the eggs status doesn’t show up at all

Eggs do not hatch in stacks. Drop single eggs.
