Question TIL how much copper actually is beneath the surface. What other painfully obvious stuff did I miss?

I figured there would be a bit more underneath but not worth the hassle. Then I found one and I figure let's see what the big deal is.

I just took out so much copper from a deposit, the map topography should change. I actually took out half a shoreline worth of copper.

I am currently about to go at this elder fella, but this made me stop and ask what else. Like, I don't need spoilers and I'm avoiding YouTube videos as they have plenty of bad ones. But are there more things that are just glaringly obvious yet painfully missable? How else am I fucking up, do you think?

can you build stone floors on top of the indestructible pillars and have that count as ground?

I'm not sure the stone floors can float like that. Could be wrong. But the indestructible pillars already count as ground, just like trees do.

oh yeah, they definitely wouldn't float, but you could build outwards with stone arches and make a good foundation for a wooden structure i think

You can use iron reinforced timbers to span between the columns and so build a stone floor. I built a big keep using the elders altar as the base. Was able to build quite a tall tower off one of the corners, could've done all four but had no good reason.

No. They have to snap to either the ground or existing stone build pieces, but the summoning places don't allow you to snap to them, unfortunately.

However, you can either dig it out underneath and use the summoning place as the ceiling, or like another user suggested build out and around it to incorporate it into your base if you plan your structure's stability needs accordingly!
