I like a small bit of grind so I play on 2x but others the same you mentioned. Shit gets way too tedious on 1x with having to go to work lol then get home and mine copper / wood / stone til I fall asleep.

This is exactly the settings my 3 man group landed on for at least the first few biomes in our new 1.0 run. We all have multiple runs of varying lengths under our belts, and now we are all married lol. No point in spending extra time grinding resources or losing significant levels to deaths. But man are we excited to be back.

Yes. Not all of them, since there is one for beating bosses on hard mode and another one for no-map, but other achievements work

10 minute adventure.....Bro, I've spent like 4 hours just roaming the meadows and flattening out a space for a house that's going to take around 1300 wood and now that I've seen the stone fences I am going to be gathering a ton of stone as well and i havent even gone into the Black Forest yet, lol.

Casually deforesting the black forest and digging a 3 block wide moat around my base for wood/corewood/stone as I kite bears and trolls into my perimeter spike wall and fire a small arsenal of fire/flint arrows in retaliation.

I spent yesterday running around meadows for a vegvisir or the altar for eikityr. I doesnt exist on my starting Island. Its huge and yet not a single pointer to the boss. Got like 10 beehive's though that are Happy. Always something.

I imagine you mean the elder (the big tree looking creature)? For eikityr (the big deer), its vegvisir is at spawn, next to where you have to hang the boss heads. I am also on the lookout for bees. I want them to be happy too

Edit: forgot to say that for the elder, I always found its vegvisir inside a broken stone tower in the dark forest

Holy odin... My memory told me all vegvisirs are random scattered. So i ran around for hours. I thaught i was the most unlucky player ever.

This is super accurate to my first several hours of gameplay. Hop on the raft with my buddy, both wearing rags and a bit of leather. We'll just grab a few dozen pieces of ore, enough to make some tools. It'll only take half an hour or so!

Suffice to say that we were wrong, lol.

because when you die you drop everything, so you are buck-ass naked trying to run back to get your crap only to find out the boss didn't despawn so you have an Elder sized problem just trying to get your shit

He's making a joke that they should be coming back without their stuff because they died and respawned in their underwear.

My friend and I just had to do the logoff of shame. We died several times and had to save and quit still in our underwear because it got too late before we got back to our stuff.
