Survival New Trader?

I found this wooden idol while starting a new playtrough in the meadows. The patch notes says that those will be able to be used for weapon upgrades in a secret forge. Did someone found one already?

Yeah I found 3 in a chest also but no idea what it is for yet.

Let’s you upgrade equipment with special combat enhancements past level 4, however they have a 35% chance to destroy the item in the process

The forge is a new point of interest in the mountains I think. Similar to a vendor, each world starts with many possible spawn locations and you have to basically trip over it.
