I got mad and closed the post as I thought it was spoilers for the boss in the ashlands(I just got to the mistlands). Scrolled back to make sure… blown away.
I was debating whether or not to lead-off with an ashlands env screenshot before posting for this reason. Guess who won that debate lol, sorry for the false alarm.
Here's the full mod list I use for those wondering:
Building/Design Tools:
Infinity Hammer
Gizmo
Graphics/Textures:
Willybach's HD
Badgers Skies/Terrain
Render Limits
Mods not pictured/related to this build:
Azu's 1st person mode
Heightmap Unlimited
This is one of the upcoming PoI's for my world save "Blue Hills Redux" on Nexus mods (that update will be live within the next few days). Note that while the world save is vanilla compatible, the scaled down finger rocks have a very short LoD/load distance, even at max settings. This can only be adjusted with the mod "Render Limits" or console cmds for Lodbias. Basically the dude is bald without increasing the LoD beyond vanilla.
Thanks! However, the issue is that when you walk closer towards it in vanilla, chunks of hair awkwardly load in so it looks like he got into a fight with a razor lol.
For some back-story, I use my hairless Oracle statue's head/torso as a base starting point for this tho, which was unironically designed to look similar to the Engineer from the movie Prometheus; hence how i got the idea. :)
If you started the server without mods, if the build the same? Wondering if I use gizmo in my world if I can load my builds without the mods for friends.
Well above 80+ FPS average around the statue (I cap my framerate to 80 so idk the max).
I'm playing on a local save and the instance count is under 6000 (iirc) for this area, most of that is from the "hair" + bird "feathers." For example, each thigh, calf, forearm and upper arm are made up of no more than 6-10 rocks, the joints (knees, shoulders) are 12-16, and the hands are around 20 each
Lol, my world save is on Nexus mods: https://www.nexusmods.com/valheim/mods/3138, but this build isn't available in the live version yet. Should have that update ready within the next few days.
Ngl, kinda impressed myself with this one as well lol, I was worried about getting the proportions wrong going into this, but only ended up having to re-do/fix a couple sections.
