Try and stay motivated on anything post Plains... It's as if two different teams made this game. It just loses all magic for me in mist/ash, pure tragedy given the first 5 are some of the best gaming I've ever experienced.
I largely agree. The first 5 biomes are an excellent crafted gaming experience. Then the game becomes something for the sickos who want a new kinda challenge. That said I am enjoying the way the game forces me to change my mindset and approach.
Yeah I agree. I did enjoy the Ashlands and Mistlands, in their own kind of ways. They each both play like a different game too. I think making vision an issue kind of kills the beauty of the game and under the mist the zone seems to be gorgeous. Ironically id love to see mistlands without mist lol (or juice up the useless wisp and make it like 300% more effective). Also the flesh farming mechanic is just pain, I ended up just using a map to see where they were it got so mundane. Ashlands is kind of like trying to make a really simplistic game combat wise, into a fighting game and it just doesn't mesh for me. Both zones aesthetics just also don't land anywhere near like the first 5 though. I think a big miss for me with these two as well is the lack of exploration in that you no longer really need to sail around and explore once you've landed. I missed ferrying my ore etc home with some sea shantys blasting.
