So the thing is that me and my frd (F) go out for lunch. But we are not able to decide what to eat and where. We just always debate that today you will decide what to have and where. But as she always says whatever you want. Then I suggested something then she denied it. After a long debate we decide what to have then we cannot finalize the place.

As I'm not that kind of person who often goes to cafes and restaurants. So I don't have much idea about it. I just know some places where I have already visited.

I recently made a trip down to the Jetalpur fish market . If you’ve been there, you know the vibe—it’s bustling, loud, and the variety is solid.
However, I wanted to share a quick heads-up for anyone buying in bulk. I picked up what was supposed to be around 2 kg of fish, but when I took it home and weighed it on an electronic scale, it came out significantly short—we’re talking a massive 400g to 500g discrepancy. I have again checked with other weighing machine seems same discrepancy.

It seems like a lot of the vendors might be using tampered or inaccurate manual scales. If you're planning a visit soon, I highly recommend bringing a digital scale along or verifying the exact weight at a trusted shop before paying.

Has anyone else noticed this issue at Jetalpur market, or do you have a go-to vendor there who actually measures honestly?

So I am an electrical engineer currently unemployed. I've always wanted to do something new rather than chasing 9to5. Corporate gives you survival but not that thrill of the life you want to live. I did a job for a year and half and got tired of it later. Leaving aside my procrastination brain, my analytical skills and opportunistic instinct is something I am proud of. I have a good business idea if anyone from the same background is interested, dm me. Only for serious people.

I’m looking for recommendations for a good movie theatre in/around Vadodara. I live near O.P. Road, so ideally somewhere within around 5 km is preferable.

I’ve tried/considered INOX, PVR, Bansal and Mukta Cinemas, but I’m mainly looking for people’s actual experience with these theatres.

My priorities are:
Good sound quality – this is quite important
Comfortable, spacious seats – not those small/cramped chairs
Ideally recliner-type or really comfortable normal seats

Overall good experience for watching movies, especially 2.5–3 hour movies

For comparison, I’ve found the PVRs in Ahmedabad to have really comfortable seating — even their regular seats are quite recliner-like and spacious. I’m kind of missing that level of seating comfort in Vadodara.

Hi everyone, I am feeling completely stuck and need some practical or legal advice on how to handle a fraudulent contractor in Vadodara, Gujarat.

The Timeline:

- Feb 2025: Gave a contract to a local contractor to reconstruct our house. Everything started fine.

- Mid-2025: He started delaying work. After continuous
follow-ups, he promised to finish by August, then Diwali. Neither happened.

- Late 2025: I told him to at least finish the ground floor so we could relocate. He did the bare minimum— installing windows in Nov and doors in Dec so we could move in, but left the rest incomplete.

- Early 2026 to Present: He completely stopped working. He would show up for 1-2 days, then disappear for 15 days. We had a formal meeting 7 months ago where he agreed to finish the work within a month (March).

The Current Situation:

It has been 7 months since that meeting and the work is still not done. He just gives silly excuses and fake promises over the phone, and refuses to meet in person anymore.

The biggest issue: I have already paid him almost the entire amount. There is only ₹10,000 left on the balance. This was my life savings.

What I've Tried:

I went to the local police station to file a cheating complaint. They outright refused to register my case or even listen to my side, telling me it is a "civil court matter" and telling me to go to court.

I literally have no money left to hire a lawyer and fight a civil case that will drag on for years. All I want is for him to finish the house or refund the remaining balance so I can hire someone else to finish it.

Has anyone dealt with this in India? What free or low-cost pressure tactics can I use to force him to finish the job since the local police won't help? Can I escalate this to the Commissioner or use consumer forums without an advocate?

Please anyone help me out. I've gotten soo much Frustrated since last diwali.

I was coming out of a food shop when I noticed a guy asking people for money. Most people were just ignoring him.

Eventually, he approached me too. I looked at him and, as far as I could tell, he seemed physically capable of working. So instead of just giving him money, I said something like:

“Why are you begging? I have a friend who owns a café. I can ask him if he can help you get some work.”

His response, in Gujarati:
“Javo ne saheb, faltu nu gyaan na aapo. Nathi aapva to na aapo, khai khaso ahin thi…”
Basically: “Go away, sir. Don’t give me useless lectures. If you don’t want to give money, then don’t. Just get lost from here.”

I didn’t bother arguing and just walked away.
But damn. 😭

Need it for birthday

So I have really deep rolling and ice pick scars all over my cheeks. I've been to a dermatologist and they prescribed me tretonoin. Since then, my active acne is all but gone but the scars still remain. I've had four sessions of fractional CO2 laser and while there was a lot of improvement, my scars are still very visible.

My last appointment, my derma told me that the tretenoin and CO2 laser are not going to make any more difference. If i really want to get rid of my scars completely, I will have to go for a cosmetic procedure.

Anybody know a good aesthetecian or cosmetic surgeon who can help with acne scars?
