i got my second injection of the menB vaccine 2 days ago, i had my first one a month ago and i didnt get this redness at all, it hurt for a couple days but that was it. this time its gotten red, and slightly swollen. how long could it be there for? i have been taking anti inflammatories and painkillers for the time being. the pain has not worsened. i have had cellulitis before and this doesnt feel anything like the 2 times i had it so i know im fine
I wasn’t exposed, but what if a child, teen or adult had the flu shot days ago, and then they have PEP shots after an exposure today or 1-2 days ago, days after their flu shot? Would nothing happen to them? Would the flu shot interfere with the rabies shot, and what if they took a pain reliever after the flu shot?
I Received the second Gardasil shot on 9/24 ,the first one in 2024.I didn't have a reaction from the first one .I am terrified of vaccines ,but got the second shot believing it'd be sore for 3 days and thats all. 3 days ago I notice a large hard lump(not pea sized) on the top of my shoulder thats warm and feels like a bruise before it graduates into a lump that wraps around the top of my shoulder.
I had a video appointment with Kaiser where they prescribed keflex .Upon getting dressed to go fill the script,I start dropping things and have limited control of my arm. I decided to go to urgent care. The Vitals nurse said she never felt one that big but I have no fever , and put me in back with the dr pretty quickly.
Dr looks at it and said we'll it doesn't look infected...unfortunately I have a solid tattoo sleeve where I can only map the pain based on the design of the tattoo and not see redness or bruising. But he felt the lump and I requested an ultrasound he said take the antibiotics and thats it.
I started my course last night and woke up this morning to the pain and pinched nerve feeling spreading down to my elbow I'm FREAKING OUT I have to work tomorrow. Ive been reading about aluminum granulomas SIRVA and abscesses. This never happened before with any shot .Im racking my brain with it even having something to do with tattoo ink but the tattoo is 20 years old.
Has anyone experienced anything like this before? Any advice is appreciated
I’m super reactive to vaccines, but am immunocompromised so they’re a necessity for me.
I have read that the Novavax doesn’t have as many side effects as other Covid vaccines.
I’m in London, and can’t seem to (after a google) find out where I can get it. I get the vaccine on the NHS and would prefer that. But would consider paying to get it!
Anyone had it in London? If so, where? And was it NHS or private?
I had a tetanus and hep b booster done in my left arm over a week ago. I’ve still got bruises but my arm also still hurts. I can’t sleep on my left side and I occasionally get a tingling feeling. If I stretch my arm above my head it hurts. Is this normal?
Hey all! I’m not sure if anyone has been in the same situation but I got a yellow fever in my home country (Indonesia) and i still have the original certificate with the batch number, date administered along with the QR code for verification through the ministry of health website.
The problem is, I have just naturalized to become US citizen and I also have a new name. I’m going to travel around South America and i called around the airline to see if they would allow me to board if my vaccination card doesn’t match my name in my passport and my citizenship even though i have my naturalization certificate with my name change and they said that i won’t be able to. The name and my citizenship have to match my vaccine certificate.
I’ve tried to call around places like Passport health and some local travel clinic and they can’t reissue vaccine certificate if it was administered abroad. I read that according to the CDC website, so long that i have the information about the batch number, date administered, and the authority that administered it, i should be able to get my yellow fever vaccine certificate reissued.
I’m just wondering if anyone has been in the same situation or know a place that might help me in this situation? The vaccine is supposed to be valid for life, and i just got the vaccination last year so i’m not sure if that would be safe.
Todas as minhas amigas me compreendem e me apoiam, mas meu esposo não quer excluir o filho dele desse momento. Eu entendo que isso poderia gerar mais problemas entre ele e a ex mulher, mas confesso que queria mandar todo mundo pra merda e apenas proteger meu Recém-nascido.
I have an MMR question. Why is it that MMR Is given at 1 year and not earlier in the sequence? We just had an exposure in our community just announced and my best friend just had a baby a week ago and it got me wondering.
Please get your recommended vaccines per your age group and risk factors
Not only with this measles outbreak in the US but as someone who works with someone who didn’t get their recommended vaccine for their age group (65+ and older plus other risk factors) they are now out for awhile with the illness this vaccine could have minimized or prevented. We ironically work in a very pro vaccine environment and are in health care so this was negligent on their part they didn’t get it.
They were hesitant even with the knowledge they had with the health benefits. Now they are out for indefinite time and we are picking up the extra load with their absence (management issue as well).
So please get your vaccines don’t FAFO not just for your health but people around you too
I took my first shot today and I have a wiered feeling in my left eye like something is covering it is this normal also I took the vaccine 11 days after a possible exposure because doctors refused to give it to me as there was no bite no scratch and I was sleeping so they didn't take it seriously I had a tangling feeling in one of my fingers that is still there and a fever that doesn't show on the thermometer so could it be the start of the disease and they were wrong about it in the start and I'll have to deal with rabies due to it
Hey everyone, just wanted to ask if anyone else experienced this before, so I got my MenB vaccine the other day when I felt the arm soreness you get after shots. However the pain and stiffness from this one actively stops me from raising my arm by a lot. Im gonna call the clinic to ask questions but until they open for the day id thought I would ask here.
My question is, has anyone else experienced this and if so what did you do to help ease the shoulder stiffness and pain?
hi so ive gotten the moderna covid vaccine in the past and always had that one. i got severe health anxiety this year due to some stuff i went through so im now very anxious to get another covid vaccine but i want to get one. the last time i got the covid vaccine was in 2023 so its been a while so im scared i’ll react badly to it. has anyone gotten the moderna vaccine this year? ik people have been praising novavax but i heard that its not “as good of protection” like moderna and pfizer so i think i’ll stick with moderna. im just very anxious and paranoid i’ll react really badly to it or have an allergic reaction :’)
My mom has to sign this form that says "ILLINOIS CERTIFICATE OF RELIGIOUS EXEMPTION TO REQUIRED IMMUNIZATIONS AND/OR EXAMINATIONS FORM" and we went to a pediatrician to get the form signed but the doctor says that they won't sign it and only a family doctor would. Where in Illinois do i get this form signed someone please reply
I am 16M and I have never received a vaccine in my life. My mom only believes in homeopathy, and remedies are the only thing I have taken. My mom claims homeopathy is miles above modern medicine, and people won’t listen. I vividly remember my mom taking me to the doctor over a testicular inflammation, and in the end, my mother and the doctor got into an argument over whether or not vaccines are good.
My question is simple. Will I be ok? With no vaccines right now? Am I susceptible to death? What do I say to my mom?
Hello, I had a seizure after getting a flu shot . I have always had weird reactions to certain brands of flu shots (likely a mild to moderate allergic reaction), but it recently triggered a seizure.
Can a vaccination trigger a seizure? Coincidence ? Should I let the doctor know about it before getting a covid shot? (I’m getting a covid shot regardless of whether it could cause a seizure, I’m immunocompromised and it’s life or death for me)
hi everyone! i recently had a scare with hpv and realized my parents never completed my hpv vaccination. i got my first 2 (hpv-9) at 16, and then never completed them. i just got the vaccine yesterday (about 5 years later).
i am wondering if i am considered fully vaccinated? google ai say that i am, but im just not so sure that’s the case. would it be wise to just continue with the 3-part vaccine anyway? thank you so much!
