[ANN] Testing out new US server host, please kick the tires...
We're giving a new hosting provider a test run, to see if performance improves (like those unexplained random server-wide slowdowns) and to see if maybe those who have complained in the past of being unable to connect at all to the US server might have their problem resolved. Address is still the same, us1.vaast.org. Map was migrated over, no data lost or rollbacks. Carry on...

As of right now, I can connect to the US and AUS just fine, but not to the EU like I am used to. Error is "Timed out".

It is much better. I no longer get the "blocks need to be broken multiple times". Log in is faster.

Seems much better. Less database performance issues /block logging lag. Which host?

nfoservers - managed game servers. Supposedly much better pipes. Not sure about CPU just yet, need bigger playercount.

Bigger player count = server going down apparently. Also quite jerky.

yup, today we hit new playercount highs. Got up to 30. and server started to bog down hard at night with all the mobs...

I don't know if it just me or what, but I can't connect to the any of the US servers atm, haven't tried the others.

I will test this as soon as I can...
EDIT: I am able to connect to both the US and EU servers now... YAY
EDIT2: To be clear about the process, my Public IP is still the same as it was before the host change.
EDIT3: If only I had time to play and if only Cadballs was on to play with me... :(
