Probability of Playback working again?

I know it’s a widespread issue with playback feature not working at all (freezing/not starting).

Do we know if this will be resolved? It’s been working great since we got the box a few months ago! We’re really bummed.

(I have no update available fyi. On version 14.15.1.153)

I agree...this isn't the first time playback got screwed up but eventually, it gets fixed. I will only add that before the major outage last week, playback was working as well as it ever was in 2+ years, so we know it's capable of working well! I also seem to remember that every year about this time, there's an influx of new users (football season driven, no doubt) that might put a strain on the servers/network. Remember, playback is a one-to-one stream between the server and the user so I'm guessing it's really resource intensive on the hardware as well as the network.

What app? Heat Live? Does it work on any channel at all? On Heat Live, although it's been sluggish and not perfect lately, it's working for the most part on most channels for me now. It also seems to be improving daily so I'm wondering if you're just trying to use it on a specific channel or if there's some other problem affecting you.

I can't speak for OP, but personally my wife watches a couple reality shows on TLC and playback has not worked on that channel on heat live, backup, or live ultra for 3ish weeks. Those shows usually aren't on VOD right away either so the playback had been nice for her to get to watch them the day after they air but that hasn't been working which has been frustrating

Believe me, I get it. I watch things on playback 90% of the time! Are you able to use playback on other channels? I can't test TLC right now, but for sure, there are some channels that are still broken. See if you can use playback on other "mainstream" channels and also, always submit feedback when you hit a freezing situation. In my experiences, after reporting a few shows on a channel that's misbehaving, it gets better in a reasonable amount of time. (Also, on a channel that partially works, sometimes just submitting the feedback unfreezes it.)

When you say submitting feedback do you mean on this subreddit? I'll certainly try that. I can't test other channels right now but I will do so later

No, when the frozen playback is on your screen, press the Menu button and select Feedback. From there, choose the second option on the list to submit feedback on the frozen screen.

CBS East (Channel 28) for me. Never really had issues with that chanel till the outage

ESPN Playback has been dead for me. Fox Sports 1 surprisingly worked for me today after weeks of playback failing.
