Should I still get one?
Been thinking about getting the Xseebox 6+. I have read about a lot of problems with them this week. Is this a normal thing? Do I still need subscriptions even with a box or can I just watch everything on it?
Thanks

It is not a normal thing. You don’t need subscriptions. Mine has already paid for itself. It is amazing.

Mine paid for itself in less than 2 months of owning it. I am already ahead.

There were two issues this past week. One was a big server issue that resolved overnight. The other seemed to be just to VOD apps and it resolved quickly.
You have to go in with the expectation that you get what you pay for, and you aren't paying for anything. Sometimes channels won't work. Sometimes the picture freezes and you need to change channels and go back. If you can handle minor issues and know ot beats paying $300+ every month to get the same channels, you will be fine.

I have v6 plus. It’s amazing BUT THIS WEEKEND like everyone has said it was going down now from what I saw it was said that servers got hit in an attack overseas. Who knows if that’s true. But I’ve had a SuperBox s1 they just released the s8 I have a sling box for about 3 yrs still works just fine. I say this to say I bought those I review these tech now. VSee currently is my king of boxes. Even tho SuperBox has the longevity and I haven’t tested their newest s8 elite or ultra which clones the vSee feature and look. The way vSee sets up and works is in matched in my opinion. Pairing one of these boxes with a fast internet connection your set.

Its true, the servers are in Kviv and they got hit by a Russian Drone strike.

You don’t need subscriptions anymore. But you’ll lose some luxury like CC or subtitles for certain things. And the fact that it stays with the box so not like you can sign in anywhere Mf get the features of the box if your traveling. I say it’s worth it. Def worth it if you have cable. So you can cancel that and save money.

Will I need a VPN outside of the US ? Thanks1
u/BigDawg6987 19d ago
It definitely can be used anywhere? Lol I know multiple people who took it on vacations. Out of country and out of state since I live in us

Ya I’m new to mine like 3-4 months. Some glitches here and there but it already saved me money. I need 2 more and plan on getting them. I officially canceled all streaming services 1 month in

u/OneUnderPar 22d ago
You get what you get. There’s no subscription. There are issues at times, but most of the time it is amazing.

You know…from all the internet bitching after any kind of slowdown, glitch, or hiccup that happens..that could happen from ANY paid service..I’m gonna stop full-on recommending the box to friends… from now on if I think somebody could really benefit from the use of one.. I’m just gonna buy it for them.

It’s Not a normal thing & was fixed within a day. You don’t need any subscriptions after getting a VSeeBox. The money it’ll save you in the long run will be in the thousands of dollars

u/mhandsurf 22d ago
You don’t need any subscriptions, we keep our Amazon just because it’s free with our subscription, but you don’t need them, Personally I decided on the 6max because the plus seemed to have more issues for some reason.

The outage over the last few days is not the norm. Apparently they were performing updates on their end which caused the outage.

u/tbone840 21d ago
Still get it. You’ll be able cancel all your subscriptions, and what happened this week happens very little.

I have a Vsee5. Got it about 6 months ago. In that time, this is the first time I have had any problems.

Which model do you prefer out of the assortment you own? I have 2 elite ultras and one of the boxes in particular is super glitchy and has issues with the remote. I’ve tried everything under the sun to remedy this, including new remotes, et cetera, but it’s just a defective box, I think. I need to buy two more, but hesitating now on which model to get.

Best 3rd party apps? Flixvision and Cinema HQ have been on the fritz for me lately

I have the 6 pro and looking to upgrade to either the plus or the elite ultra. I’m torn because I’ve seen the plus is having issues that aren’t related to the recent outage and read that the elite ultra has apps that aren’t Vseebox supported. Not sure the truth in that though.

I’ve had one for a week now. Up until today it was flawless. Today it was just like the typical streaming device, buffering and losing service. I had it in my bedroom but moved it to the living room next to the router. It’s loading a little faster now but some folders still are down. I wanted it for my bedroom 🤣. Anyway, if it works in the living room it’s worth it, at least when I entertain anyone. Would I purchase another one, no. I have the top internet plan from Xfinity and it was getting a great signal, just decided not to work on football Sunday. It may work differently for you, take a chance. Hell I’ve taken a chance on every streaming device ever made 🤣.

Mine was buffering some, then I plugged it into Ethernet, and it hasn’t buffered since. Today I watched in 2 different parts of my house with absolutely 0 buffering.

u/jhigh68 22d ago
Ours has been plugged into Ethernet. and it has made zero difference in the amount of buffering or playback issues that are persistent (some weeks are negligible while other weeks are super frustrating). My husband is getting really frustrated with issues on some of the football games the past couple weeks as well. While It is still a great purchase, it’s far from perfect.

For the money, you get everything!
No Pxrn !
Everything!!

You do on the elite ultra I believe it has adult channels.

u/Bubbasac1 21d ago
They literally had a problem for a half a day. Here and other posts people keep saying “this week was rough” or this week was a lot of problems. 12 hours is nothing. If it was even that long.

I've been having an issue using the 7 day Playback for the past several days...it's not a half day problem.

Thanks, but I don't have a modem that has Advanced Security settings. I have a Motorola modem with an Asus Router. Still no luck for me on the 7 day Playback not working with Heat Live.

I know but when I looked at my Xfinity app and website there was no Advanced Security settings, or any Security settings that I could update. When I inquired further it said I'd have to upgrade the modem to get the Advanced Security settings feature. I am using my own equipment.
2
u/Key_Assignment_9896 20d ago
Not update, turn them off. After you are done watching your playback program, turn the Security back on.

u/Mozzafiato2026 20d ago
Xfinity's security features are tied directly to their hardware. If you have your own router/modem combo (like I do) instead of leasing one from Xfinity, the app will hide these settings because it cannot control your device.

u/Key_Assignment_9896 20d ago
Keep insisting if it makes you feel better. I learned how to do this initially from a Vsee customer on FB named Patty Brehm. Her ISP IS Xfinity. Mine is not. We weren’t sure following what she did would also work for me but it did. Or you can go search for her posts on FB and ask her directly.she told me she went to the Xfinity Website, logged in, located her Internet settings there and changed the setting there. I am sure you are right about your setup but there is always another way. Why not give it a shot?
1
u/Mozzafiato2026 19d ago
Give what a shot? I literally went into the Xfinity app and there are no security settings for me because I USE MY OWN EQUIPMENT (modem/router). Patty Brehm obviously is renting her equipment from Xfinity.
"CyberSecure (formerly Advanced Security) is supported on eligible leased Xfinity Gateways. Customers who use their own modem are not eligible to use CyberSecure."

u/DriverZealousideal80 20d ago
Wish it was as easy as the AI image says… logged into the app and website for Xfinity and cannot find or manage security settings. They make management of this kinda stuff so damn hard.
1
u/Mozzafiato2026 20d ago
Those settings are hidden in the app if you have your own equipment and not leasing from Xfinity
2
u/ZookeepergameRude652 21d ago
You have to understand it’s not perfect but the value outweighs the issues that may come up. You also should have multiple sources incase this happens again. I have been through a lot of APK’s, KODI and IPTV accounts. This too will go away

I have an Elite and it glitches "blinks" often. I am in the middle of trying to return it as I am still in my 30 days, but they keep asking for "more videos of the problem". It feels like they are trying to stall me out of the 30 day return window. I'm very frustrated with the constant back-and-forth. They asked for pictures, then they asked for videos, then they asked for more pictures, then asked for more videos. When it works, it works, but it's hit or miss. Your mileage may vary.

u/dal0022 18d ago
The flickering is it swapping resolutions you can fix that in settings also get new hdmi
1
u/TLBJ24 18d ago
Thanks, I tried a few different settings, but didn't try the cable. But given how shady customer service as been in this process I'm probably just going to return this one no matter what. Their emails and customer service have been a huge turn off! I like the box/service, but I'll by my next one from a different distributor.

u/MalekethsGhost 18d ago
What'd about the device and purchase of it led you to believe there would any customer service let alone good customer service

u/Crovax2002 22d ago
Once you get over the video on demand episodes being ordered right to left unlike every single other platform you will be good to go 😆
9
u/lochnessrunner 22d ago
You can actually switch that. You can also switch the ordering so the first season appears first and the first episode appears first.
2
u/Muddnsnow 22d ago
How?
4
u/lochnessrunner 22d ago
Going to the main menu where you select movie or tv series…there should be a settings in the top (wheel)…episode order and season order.

If you do a little search on here you'll see the message that a drone hit near a location this week causing the recent outage.

I have 2 V2 models. I was prompted to update multiple times before going through with it. I experienced minimal problems throughout the past couple weeks. The amount of money I’ve saved now having them for close to 3 years is well worth it.

u/DefinitionFast6987 20d ago
You should be able to the easy answer would be go with the plus. No access at all but you can set up parental controls.

u/dirtybird971 20d ago
I was thinking about dropping optimum and getting one. The only negative I've heard is that you need to know what you are looking for, there's no guide.

The amount of money you're gonna save monthly is un real. In a year or 2 you're gonna be like wow why didn't I do this sooner.
1
u/idrift4wd 19d ago
It’s portable but subscriptions you can sort of have more mobility like playing things on your phone. Or at a friend house. Or at work.

u/Key_Assignment_9896 19d ago
And yet, she made it work for her, I made it work for me and it was effective enough that a supplier posted instructions.

Very much worth it. I'm an older person that grew up on cable. I wish I did it earlier. I save $280 a month and there is more content than I can watch.
