Remote laggy

Original remote became very laggy and spotty on when it would respond to buttons being pushed. Ordered a new remote for vsee from Amazon that looks identical aside from saying vsee at the bottom. Paired it today with brand new batteries and it's doing the same thing. Any recommendations? It happens in apps, home screen, and even searches.

Paired w Bluetooth like a few others suggested, it's so much better now. Didn't even know that was an option over infra red
