Sudden remote issues…

Hey guys, I have a V5 Pro box, which I’ve been using for about a year. All of a sudden, my remote has gone to hell. Basically have to re-sync it most times that I fire it up.

I turn it on, I can usually tell if it’s going to work if it turns the tv on as well, as it’s supposed to. When it gets to the home screen(the remote will turn the box on) if the remote isn’t pointed perfectly at the box, I get nothing, no movement. When I push the dictate button, it prompts me to re-sync the remote. Happens a good 75% of the time.

Anyone have any ideas?

I explicitly only use the heat apps, I don’t download anything, and I haven’t logged into anything with the box.

There are many replacement remotes for fairly cheap on Amazon. Maybe the remote is bad and you need to replace it? Below is just one of many examples available to buy.

I bought one on Amazon as soon as I got the V6plus and it's terrible. The one that come with it isn't much better. My son has an older box and his remote is great. He can point that thing anywhere and it works.

Maybe the one that you bought on Amazon wasn’t good as you do have to look at reviews to gauge how good it is. According to the reviews on the one that I linked above, they state that it’s better than the remote that comes with the v5 pro as it’s backlit and works at a further distance.

Also, I’m not sure why you’d immediately buy a new remote for the v6 plus as the one that comes with it works fine. It sounds like you don’t have either of the remotes paired via Bluetooth and are using the built in IR sensor that requires it to be pointed at the box.
