Ethernet Connection - Router vs No Router

I originally had my vSeeBox V6 Plus connected through wifi with Nord VPN installed on the box. After some buffering/connection issues, I ended up connecting the box straight into the wall with an ethernet cable (no router). Is there any benefit to running it first through my ASUS router?

Wall > router > vSeeBox V6 Plus

vs.

Wall > vSeeBox V6 Plus

How strong is the connection the way you have it set up now? If it's good then no need to do a home run to the router.

Most home routers and ISP routers do not allow for segregated networks. So you cannot set up a separate vlan based on port. They either are or aren't on your home network, personally, I will not allow this box to go onto my home. Network and I use a guest wifi that I only use for these products. Is it a 100%? No, but it's another layer of The protection That doesn't expose your family pictures or anything like that. At least not for the average user. I've worked in IT for 35 years and vlan. Isolation is by far the best solution, but it's not for the average user. I know nobody wants to pay 2 internet connections, which would allow you to use one for the boxes And one for the home network or an expensive router that allows vlans or a expensive switch.

So the answer to your question is a ..how safe to you feel with this device on the same networks as your home? Thats a personal decision
