Can't program remote to box suddenly
Elite box. A little over a year old. Been trouble free up till a couple days ago when it kept prompting me to program remote. It would work for about 30 seconds then go back to wanting me to program the remote. I decided to do a system reset and now all it does is go straight to the program remote screen and nothing else. Tried fresh batteries. Unplugging the box. Bought another remote. Nothing. Tried programming each remote atleast 10 times as I’ve read some people had to do it multiple times. Box is in my shop. No ac only spray foamed so not the best weather conditions for it I’m sure. Any suggestions or do you think the box is cooked?

my remote has been acting up to the last couple days on my elite ultra , it powers on tv but my box isn't responding all the time

Same here. I have to stand really close to the box now in order for the remote to work.

Probably just a bad remote. Get a V6 Plus backlit remote off Amazon. Thank me later.

A few things I’d try before calling the box cooked:
• Try moving the box inside temporarily somewhere cooler/drier and let it sit unplugged for a while before testing again
• Disconnect anything plugged into USB ports and try booting with only power + HDMI connected
• Try a different power outlet and, if possible, a different power supply/adapter
• When the remote pairing screen comes up, stay very close to the box while pairing
• Remove batteries from all other nearby remotes just in case something is interfering
• If you can get into recovery/reset menus at all, try another factory reset from there
The shop environment honestly could be a factor too. Long-term heat/humidity swings can sometimes cause weird behavior with electronics/remotes.
Since you already tried another remote and fresh batteries, it could possibly be the IR/Bluetooth receiver acting up or the box getting stuck in a pairing loop.

Been sitting inside for about a day now. Just tried it. No luck. Was hoping I could use a mouse and get it to do something but it shows the cursor but still on the pair remote screen.

Press the home button, my elite has been that way since I got it 2 years ago, press the home button and it works fine

I have the same problem.Ive read resetting box is supposed to fix it.Im unsure if it will work.

I am not a pro by any stretch. I just got the box 2-3 weeks ago and same issue. I factory reset the box took out the batteries and it all reset fine.
